Christmas Gifts For All The Family With Philips

When it comes to Christmas gifts, there's always something technical making the wish list. Between Mum, Dad, Granny and the kids there's no shortage of electricals being requested from good old Santa, and this year is no different. Especially in my house. Mostly because you can't go wrong with something for personal styling or similar - everyone needs it, most people want it and you're guaranteed to give a gift that will get used rather than sit in an unopened box for six months.

Practical gifts from Philips will be well received by every member of the family. Top of the technical styling game, their Christmas range has something for everyone. I know this first hand because my family have been trialing the best they've got to offer this year and we've finally managed to narrow it down to our top picks for all the family.

For Him - Philips Beard Trimmer 7000

My man has a beard. That's not a revelation, it's a fact. He also lives a busy lifestyle as a producer, which means he's constantly on the go and he always needs quick solutions to life's little problems - like beard trimming and taming. Between filming, admin, my six year old wanting to be his constant play companion and of course, keeping me entertained, well...his life is full. But his beard doesn't need to be. (See what I did there?!)

His top pick this Christmas is the Philips Beard Trimmer 7000 because it's different to every other styler he's had - it's got a nifty vacuum that captures up to 90% of the hair that it trims. NO MESS IN MY BATHROOM! Showing him the trimmer for the first time, the very first thing he noticed was the fact that it captures hair through the vacuum without letting it fall. Which wasn't something I'd ever thought of before (being a woman and all that) but when he pointed out that it would mean his several weekly trims would no longer leave annoying hair all around the sink, well, it got my vote right away.

Mr Lady Writes gave me a running commentary the first time he used this - assuring me it's his best beard trimmer to date because it lifts and trims the hair too, which apparently means he needs less strokes to capture and trim the old beard. Perfect for him being so active and constantly on the go because it gets the job done much quicker.

Not just taking his word for it, I decided to check out the website too and found that it's got a 4.3 out of 5 star rating. I always check out reviews on electrical and technical products before purchasing, so this was the final tick for me. Perfect for the man who's got everything (which mine has) as well as for the man with long, medium or short haired beards. Plus at £70 you're looking at great value and a main pressie ticked off the list for your other half, your dad, brother and great uncle Bob. You won't go far wrong with the Philips Beard Trimmer 7000, as confirmed by Mr Lady Writes.

For Her - Philips SatinShave

Not to steal his thunder, but Mr Lady Writes isn't the only one who's busy these days. Between being a full time PR Manager, a mummy, blogger, girlfriend and all round busy bee, well I need help saving time too. Anything I can do to cut down time in the mornings before the school and work run, well, I'm constantly trying to shave off a few minutes here and there (see what I did again? These puns are on point!)

For me, especially in winter, shaving the old pins is a chore - albeit an essential one. So for me the top pick is the Philips SatinShave. An electric shaver I can use in the bath and shower, that delivers the ease of water shaving but the precision and close cut of an electric shave. It's easy to use and only needs an hour of charge time. And has a 5 minute quick charge too, which is a life saver for the mornings I'm in a super rush and have forgotten to recharge after the last use.

It's also really comfortable, with a cushioned head, and multiple foils that ensure no hairs are missed. It gives me the smoothest legs in no time and I feel a little bit like a leggy model when I step out of the shower, often saying 'feel my legs!' to Mr Lady Writes in adoration for the closest leg shave I've ever had. My top pick for Her is the Philips Satin Shave at only £39.

For The Kids - Philips Sonicare for Kids

If you've got children then you'll know that the hardest part of the morning and bedtime routine is brushing teeth. Why do they find it so hard to take care of their pearly whites?! My little boy is no different, and would rather be playing superhero's or generally avoiding doing anything that means it's time to brush his teeth. So finding something to help entice him became a bit of a challenge. Which is why the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush is our top pick for kids this Christmas.

My little man loves the fact that he's 'grown-up' enough to have a big boy electric toothbrush, and I love the fact that it ensures he's looking after his teeth properly. With the novelty of it being electric, and connecting with an app to encourage good brushing and hygiene habits, I found he was more eager than ever before for teeth brushing time in the mornings - and he loves the electric sensation - often giggling away as he brushes.

The app is great for rewarding him as he goes, while also helping me keep an eye on what's been done during teeth time. With interchangeable stickers too it gives him the fun element of brushing. For me it's giving me the reassurance that he's getting healthy habits in from a young age. Worth every penny of it's £37.99 price tag.

Blow The Budget - Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Rose Gold Toothbrush

If budget isn't restricted then we couldn't resist adding one more pick to the list, and the latest addition to the Philips Sonicare collection is our favourite choice for the blow-the-budget pick: the  DiamondClean Toothbrush to be more specific. (My personal preference is for the Rose Gold colour, although it's also available in pink, black and white so it's unisex and suitable for all.)

Offering the best clean, it's also Philips' best whitening Sonicare brush thanks to its DiamondClean brush heads and unique movement. Perfectly shaped to remove stains and buff away plaque, teeth are whitened 2x better than with a normal electric brush. No need to shell out on those expensive teeth whitening sessions anymore.

It's also pretty sexy too - well, as sexy as a toothbrush can be. It charges in a sexy rose gold glass...yes, you read that correctly. Carry in the matching travel carry case or pop directly into the accompanying glass for a charge in between uses, and use the 2 minute timer to ensure you get your twice daily teeth time. It's priced at £270, so definitely a blow-the-budget pick, BUT you're in luck because Boots have it on sale right now for £115!

So those are the Lady Writes family top picks for Christmas with Philips. Will any of these be finding their way to sit underneath your family Christmas tree this year?
