Colourpop My Little Pony Palette: Real vs FAKE!

I've wanted to write one of these posts for SUCH a long time, and now that I have, I can see them becoming a regular thing on Lady Writes. Getting this post together has felt like a little project and I've really enjoyed it actually - just call me a make-up detective! I should start by saying that I've never used fake make-up products. Nor would I, and I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone does. When you do your research into the types of things that end up going into fake make-up...well it's enough to make you feel ill. Seeing as fake make-up is created without any regulations, no guidelines and no real need to be created with care, products on the black market are likely to cause rashes and reactions - and worse. So it's not something I'd ever recommend wearing as an actual product.

Reasons Why Every Girl Needs A Bottle Of Marc Jacobs Daisy On Her Vanity

"Think little-black-dress, but in perfume variety." (Me.)

There are some perfumes and fragrances that seem to have been around forever and yet never get old. Fragrances that you may or may not have owned yourself, but you still recognize it on others when they wear it. There are just some fragrances that you don't get tired of, and that become cult perfumes...ones we all know and love. One of these that always comes to mind is Daisy by Marc Jacobs. So here's 10 reasons why every girl needs a bottle on her vanity...

Spectrum Glam Clam - The Prettiest Brush Set Out There

Okay, I'm not going to lie... I got the Spectrum Glam Clam because quite honestly, it is the prettiest brush set out there. I'm pretty sure we can all agree on that, can't we!? There's not many brushes that beat the Spectrum ones, but there are even fewer Brush Sets that will even come close to the Glam Clam. Especially when you combine their high quality and sheer beauty together!

Winter Skin Detox

Every January I recommend having a skin detox. By that, I mean using new and intensive, dedicated skincare for a month to cleanse of impurities etc. This gives the skin a month to declog and freshen up for the year ahead. Plus seeing as most of us are recovering from the cost of Christmas, we tend to spend a lot of time at home, so it's a no brainer that January is a perfect time to detox the skin.

My Huge Colourpop Haul!

Now before I start, I'm going to admit that I am a FULL Colourpop addict. I have a LOT of their products in my collection and am constantly making sneaky orders for more. I can't help myself! But I've never made quite as many as I did at the end of last year: making four separate orders in two months. Even for me, that's a lot! But what can I say? The Holiday Collections and new releases just kept coming and the Boxing Day sale was too good to miss with 40% off site-wide and a free palette, and free shipping. What's a girl to do other than shop-away?!

Five Reasons Why Shopping At World Duty Free Is Even Better Than You Think

Planning a holiday is fun isn't it? Getting everything ready, packing and that early morning dash to the airport. Even in the stress of remembering to pack adapters, and make sure the oven is switched off, it's all such a fun experience because you know...you're going on holiday! But the beauty lover in me doesn't just love the holiday part, in fact the airport shopping in World Duty Free is almost as good as the holiday!

Do The Lush Sleeping Products Really Work?

As someone with insomnia, I've spent a lot of time and money trying every single fad that comes around to try and help me get more sleep at night. I've always suffered with waking up early doors when I'm stressed or anxious - it's one of the first signs I start to show. But what I'm currently battling is sleeping fine until 2/3am and then basically being unable to get back into a deep enough sleep. Which means I wake up from light sleep every 30-40 mins until my alarm at 7am. As a result I feel exhausted when I wake up, which is no fun at all. So when I heard about the Lush sleeping products, I was instantly intrigued - do they really work?
