CBD Beauty & Wellness – Five Ways To Add CBD To Your Daily Life

CBD Beauty & Wellness - Five Ways To Add CBD To Your Daily Life

Not sure of where to start with CBD, or even why you should? Then here’s five ways you can easily add it to your daily life and what I found when I did the same over a 4 week period…

With the rising popularity of CBD products in all manner of areas, it’s easy to fall in to one of two camps: for or not sure. There’s those (like me) who are all for it – but admittedly I’d already tried several products previously containing CBD extract, so I had experience behind me that banished any initial confusion. The other camp of opinion is those who aren’t sure and that’s understandable as there’s a lot of conflicting opinion on CBD beauty products and things in the wellness sector too. Plus let’s be honest: CBD still retains some of the same stigma as cannabis, as drugs, even though we know it’s from a different part of the plant entirely, extracted separately and used differently, it’s still understandable to think of it as a grey area for those without proper knowledge. So let’s unpack it, shall we?

“CBD is cannabidiol, a naturally occurring organic compound found in many plants including hemp. It is safe, non-addictive and does not get you high. CBD works by attaching to receptors in your body’s natural endocannabinoid system. “

Like any type of product, CBD works differently for us all but I’ve been using lots of CBD beauty products and wellness additions in my daily life for the past 4 weeks to trial and document my experience. (I’ve been posting on Instagram weekly to talk through the things I’ve found.) While I did try an oil last year and one other product, I’ve never tried anything else and certainly not shopped with Nabino who are a leading UK marketplace for all things CBD.

So, if you’re on the fence about things, or not sure where to start your journey then here’s the five ways I added CBD beauty and wellness products to my life and how you can too…

Skincare & Beauty Products

Obviously the first port of call for me with CBD beauty was skincare as that’s always my passion. I started with Leef Organics who are a 100% organic brand who hand harvest everything they produce. Their Revive CBD Balm has to be my favourite product because it’s really relaxing in scent and has quite a few uses that have worked well for me. For instance I’ve been using it on my elbows and knees, which are quite dry areas and I’m finding this adds nourishment and takes the dryness away instantly but then also keeps them feeling softer for longer. It’s primarily supposed to be a sore muscle and joints balm, which works really well and it’s also been great for menstrual cramps – meaning I’d buy it again for that reason alone. Rubbed over my tummy it’s eased the sensation and the botanical scent adds a relaxing tone too – so before bed is highly recommendable.

Then there’s also the Leef Organics Wild Crafted CBD Facial Oil which is perfect for the skincare fans out there. I swapped out my usual nightly face oil for this over the past weeks and found it really added some radiance to the overall appearance of my skin. Several drops massaged in before bed was just enough and while it’s not the only skincare product I use, I can say that for the first time in a while that my blemish levels have decreased in multiple areas – which is no coincidence in my book. With lots of organic ingredients this oil is perfect for those who work in the city and face a lot of pollution as the blend fights free-radicals and the way your skin can look and feel after excess pollution exposure. Mine feels overall smoother and softer in tone, with a lovely subtle radiance that’s made my complexion look nice and healthy.

Food

Didn’t know you could season your salads with CBD? Well you can! Nabino stock products from Potli, a food brand creating infused oil like their Chilli Oil. Which comes in 15ml bottles and can be added to anything – I’ve added mine to plain hummus with pitta for lunch and it gives a tasty kick if you like things a little hotter than your average! But you could add it to salads, soups or curry’s – anything you’d like to. They also have an infused Olive Oil which is next on my list as you can do pretty much anything with it – cook to your hearts desire in fact!

Drink

Another favourite I’ve only recently at the tail-end of my trial found, was the Trip Drinks, which cost the same as your daily coffee at £3.25 each but give so much more than a quick pick-me-up. The Trip drinks are infused with CBD and they’re vegan friendly and sugar free so a pretty healthy alternative, right? The most tasty in my opinion is the Elderflower Mint one which tastes like a cocktail without the alcohol and helps when a case of the mid-morning slump kicks in. It’s kept me perky, alert and focused on my daily tasks, for longer. For the same price as a coffee without the post-caffeine slump, I’d highly recommend it as an alternative.

Bath & Shower

Who knew you could shower and bath with CBD beauty products? I’ve fallen a little bit in love with the Leef Organics Nooks & Crannies Soaps which smell so indulgent, they’re another product I will 100% repurchase now. My favourite is the Cucumber Melon variation which is such an awakening scent, it’s refreshing and I love using it. My hands are currently thanking me for it too as the formula also contains coconut oil which means they’re soft and nourished despite continuous hand washing. There’s something that feels like a real treat about using this after each hand wash that’s for sure.

If it’s pamper time you’re looking to enhance with CBD, then you can! Bet you didn’t know that, did you? Nabino also stocks Kush Queen CBD Bath Bombs which allow you to take a simple evening bath to the next level of relaxation. Added to your running bath water, it turns blue in colour and releases the most deliciously calming scent that enhances your natural chill-out time. With a blend of essential oils to naturally calm, it also has 25mg of CBD to ensure the experience is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Think of the most relaxing bath experience and then take it up a notch.

Supplement/Oil

Probably the most commonly thought of way to use CBD beauty products is within a supplement or oil. As mentioned, I tried a brand last year but the Leef Organics Thrival CBD Extract is the one I’ve been using from Nabino this time round. A pure CBD extract oil, a few drops under the tongue each morning is all I’ve needed – I think you can take up to about 5 drops a day but 2-3 is enough for me. I’ve noticed several things since I started trailing it – the most noticeable observation was the increase in energy levels – no more day time naps! Within about a week I noticed that I didn’t even feel like I needed a nap (which is no mean feat for the inner nap queen within me!) and by week three I noticed I was getting to the evening and still had energy remaining rather than my normal 6pm slump, not moving off the sofa kinda thing. It’s been wonderful to feel like my batteries are constantly charged and mentally I’ve found I’m getting more work done during the day because I can focus better, for longer too. It’s like banishing tiredness in any way from my body – for me this is vital as I’m more productive, less lethargic and that’s made me happier all round too.

I realise that the brand I tried last year wasn’t as effective based on its potency – this one has 375mg of cold pressed CBD extracts, so I feel happier taking it knowing it’s a higher quality, better sourced and a better produced option.

So my four week trial has flown by and it’s been one I’ve found really interesting to partake in. I’m fortunate I get to try a lot of fun things but CBD is so topical right now that I loved partnering with Nabino to trial a range of their products. My overall thoughts have somewhat shifted in regards to CBD beauty and wellness products now as a result too…

My experiences have convinced me that with CBD beauty products, especially with the oils you take as part of your diet, that the more pure versions are by far the best. If you want superior then prepare to pay for it but you’ll also find it delivers superior level results, including that amazing energy and mental stimulation. You truly get what you pay for and if it’s going inside your body then it’s a worthy investment.

I also found that the CBD beauty products delivered more noruishment to my skin – both body and face, so for dehydrated and sensitive skin types, you’d find these a welcome addition to your regimes.

And for the more digestible versions of CBD products, they’ve been nice to try, given tasty alternatives that are also healthier in origin and have a nice mood lifting or chilling-out result.

So while these are just my experiences*, and everyone’s will be different, I can say I’ve really enjoyed the trial and things like the Trip drinks, the Leef Organic Soap & the Balm will all be regulars in my home now.

If you want to shop with Nabino, use code: CHLOE15 at the checkout for 15% off all first orders.

You’re welcome.

*Please note these are my experiences, they nor the products mentioned are intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions. Do not take CBD products if pregnant or breast feeding and not if you’re under the age of 18. Speak to a doctor before starting new dietary supplements.

Great suggestions. I can’t use CBD due to the anxiety medication I’m on but I’ve heard it do wonders for other people. My aunt uses it for pain management and loves it!

The Revive cream sounds great as someone with really dry skin, the fact it’s supposed to help with muscle soreness is really interesting too x

I’ll be honest and say that the idea of CBD kind of freaked me out. As soon as I saw the word cannibis, I felt like I needed to stay clear. That said I’ve had a bunch of friends who have tried muscle and joint balms and said the same as you. I need all the help I can get with my fibro flare-ups! As soon as we get the go-ahead to be normal again, I’ll be buying some!

What a fantastic read Chloe! I’m currently obsessed with Groomarang CBD Healing Balm. I apply it on my lips, dry areas and eczema, works a treat! I have taken a CBD supplement in a tablet form but it made no difference x

I’m one of those who fall into the second camp. I am interested to try it but was always unsure. This has been so helpful.

I’ve been using CBD for sleep for a while now, though it’s hard to tell if I’m just sleeping better in general or if it’s helping. I do really enjoy it for my skin though!
