Top Fragrance Picks For Him & Her This Christmas

top fragrance for Christmas

Nothing beats a top fragrance for Christmas, does it? So let’s take a look at some of the top fragrance picks for him and her this Christmas to make your shopping easier…

If you’re anything like me, Christmas is the perfect time to stock up on new fragrances. While some people think giving a bottle of perfume is a lazy gift, to me it’s the opposite and I actually think it’s really personal. If you get the right one, it’s something that shows how much you’ve thought about that person. I think it’s because fragrance is so personal, it’s so unique to a person that actually finding a great scent that your friends and family will love takes work, thinking about, and shows them you’ve done your homework.

I can spend hours trying to find great fragrances for the people in my life but over the years I’ve learned what elements they like and what elements they don’t. So the process is a lot quicker nowdays. For example my Mum likes floral scents which aren’t too heavy. My husband like light scents without too much sandalwood at the base and my brother is all for those ‘young and trendy’ scents of the moment. (Oh the joys of your early twenties hey?!)

So when I’m shopping for new fragrances for my family I’m always keen to find something new that I know they’ll just love based on key elements of the scent. I always head to Fragrance Direct where you can get up to 75% off the RRP across their whole site – it’s the best place to shop for fragrances because you’ll struggle to beat their prices. Plus they have extra offers and discounts available all the time too, so it’s the first place I look when fragrance shopping.

So if you’re like me and want to give a top fragrance for Christmas that perfectly matches their personality, then let me help break down some of the best picks for you to consider.

For Her

Giorgio Armani Si Passione Red Maestro EDP Spray 50ml

A beautiful Fragrance for the woman who likes something strong, the Giorgio Armani Si Passione Red Maestro EDP Spray is a great choice this year. Perfect for the strong woman who likes a definitive scent, this one has floral top notes of rose and blackcurrant but it’s enriched with jasmine accord and vanilla to give it a musky edge that makes it sexy and sultry at the same time. The blend of the two elements creates something really exclusive and feminine – if you know a strong woman, they’ll love this! Not only is it a powerful scent, the limited edition Si Passione Red Maestro looks absolutely divine too – something about the bold red design of the bottle exudes confidence, doesn’t it? A 50ml bottle from Fragrance Direct has over £10 of saving and will only cost you £63.99.

Valentino Born In Roma Donna Eau de Parfum Spray

Another very definitive scent and a good choice this Christmas would be the Valentino Born In Roma Donna Eau de Parfum Spray. The 30ml has a saving of over £7 and costs £47.99 and it comes in the trademark Valentino stud style bottle which just looks beautiful and designer on any vanity table. Including notes of Bourbon vanilla which is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery, this one is just as sexy and elite with a more modern twist. It’s a classic scent with an edgy twist that’s couture and fun all in one. I’d recommend this for the 20’s and 30-somethings you’re buying for this Christmas. They’ll not be disappointed.

YSL Libre Eau de Parfum Spray

One of my favourite scent discoveries this year was the YSL Libre Eau de Parfum Spray. It’s the most stunning scent that I can’t get enough of and it’s become one of my most reached for fragrances of recent months. I also know that this is being picked as one of this Christmas’s top female fragrances to be given as a gift, which should further reinforce why it’s a very safe bet for a gift! I’d say this scent is ultra feminine and even though I’m not a floral scent lover, the notes of lavender and orange blossom within this are soft and sensual so they create a musky blend that mixes perfectly to create something bold and iconic. I can see this perfume becoming a staple that’s still as popular in 20 years as it is now. Currently the 50ml has over £10 off and is £67.99 so stock up!

Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT Spray

One for the musc lovers, this perfume is great for the winter months so makes a lovely Christmas gift. Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT Spray has base notes of vanilla and vetiver which creates this unique blend that’s heavy and wonderful. Blended with a heart of musc and amber it’s sensual and everything a truly good musc perfume should be. It’s still there, strong as ever, several hours later and it’s the sort of scent that makes you turn your head when someone walks past you wearing it. So if someone you know likes an alluring perfume that’s got an air of mystery to it, then this is for them. Currently only £35.99 so a great price for fragrance.

Lancome Idole Eau de Parfum Spray

I’m not usually a big fan of Lancome fragrances. I like them, but I don’t usually love them because they’re quite floral. My mum on the other hand loves them! However the new Lancome Idole Eau de Parfum Spray had me hooked and I’m seriously impressed – which means I can’t recommend it enough as a pick this Christmas. The feminine rose top notes give it a classic edge and blend with jasmine to create something long lasting. There’s also an almost clean linen element to the scent so it’s fresh, girlie and crisp. It’s one of those scents you’d happily wear everyday because it’s lovely and easy all in one. Plus I adore the bottle – it’s the perfect girlie-girl design. Currently £42.99 for 25ml.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Beau EDT Spray

Is there any man who’s Christmas isn’t complete without a Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance? I didn’t think so! This year they’ll love the Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Beau EDT Spray and so will you! I love to smell the perfect scent on my husband and this one is gorgeous. It’s got tonka bean and coconut wood and together it’s completely sexy and seductive. But to stop it being too heavy there’s a great mix of fresh bergamont in the blend which means he’ll smell clean and crisp at the same time. The great thing about a Jean Paul Gautier scent as a gift is that the bottles are huge – this one is 125ml for £61.99, so you get your money’s worth. Plus I love the bottle design – note the placement of the gold leaf!

K by Dolce&Gabbana Eau de Toilette Spray

If he’s the king of your heart then this is the scent for him (see what I did there?!) The K by Dolce&Gabbana Eau de Toilette Spray is a wonderful fragrance for any man who likes something really fresh. There’s Sicilian lemon, blood orange and juniper berry within this to give it a fruity edge that combines with cedarwood and patchouli to create something with a strong pull. It’s nicely heavy as all good male scents should be, without being overbearing and it’s also really fresh – very much reminding me of a cleanly washed shirt. My husband loves this one for work as it’s got the best of everything in a scent. Plus using a fragrance with a crown isn’t lost on him either as king of the house! Currently a 50ml is £48.99.

Smell is a strong sense for me since that’s how my memory works! My mum always wore Chanel No 5 so I’m forever drawn to trying samples when I see them. My dad always had Brut every time he went out. As for me, I’m obsessed with Lancome especially La Vie Est Belle and Tresor Midnight Rose! I’ve been meaning to try the new scene since Zendaya is the face of it so wish me luck!

I rarely buy people fragrance as it’s such a personal thing and I know how fussy I am about them, I only really buy them for my mum because I always know when she’s going to like something. I don’t think I’ve ever tried any of these ones x
