If you’re headed to Florida and want to take advantage of the shopping (trust me you’ll want to!) then I have the best places to shop in Orlando all lined up for you!
One of the many draws for me when we booked our holiday to Florida was the shopping. America is well known to us Brits for the shopping, and more specifically for the bargains you can find in the outlets they have there. I’ve been to several across the country before during previous visits but this time I was determined to find the best places to shop in Orlando. After all, I was in the search of some major bargains and buys!
There’s two Outlet Malls I highly recommend visiting and it’s where I spent the majority of my shopping time because both offered unique and relevant stores with great prices and so if you’re looking for the best places to shop in Orlando then the Simon Malls are where to head.
Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets
If you’re looking for luxury and designer buys at outlet prices then Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets is one of the best places to shop in Orlando. It has over 160 stores with over 20 ‘true’ luxury brands including Prada, Jimmy Choo, Coach, Kate Spade. To add, Gucci, Versace and Marc Jacobs are also due to open very soon as well. So if you’re looking for BIG brands at small prices then this is where you want to be.
We started our day at 10am as soon as the mall opened, and I’m glad we got there early because it soon fills up! So my first tip is to head there for opening time to miss the queues. My second tip is to have a list of things you want to buy – if you go in ‘blind’ you’ll want everything because the prices are that good! I had a list of things I wanted to get including gifts for the family, a new handbag for me and some clothes for the boys, but I’d also left an amount of my budget for on the day purchases that were treats and it worked well having both a plan and some budget allocated to the fun spontaneous things!
My first stop was Kate Spade, which is one of my favourite affordable designer brands. I love their designs and simplistic style so I knew I’d be stocking up on Kate Spade goodness and I wasn’t disappointed. The store had huge discounts running throughout it because it’s an outlet, but it also had an extra 20-30% off handbags and wallets so that was enough to tempt me! I got the most beautiful deep red shoulder bag that should have been $199 but I only paid $47.76 for it. It was just too good to pass up! There was a huge selections of bags to pick from and it was so hard to decide on the one I eventually went for as they had totes, shoulder bags, purses and backpacks – literally every style and colour you could imagine!
I also spent a lot of time looking at the jewellery and I got the most beautiful bangles that should have been $59 each but two worked out at $60 with all the discounts so I got one in white and one in pink. I’ve worn them religiously since I got them as they’re stylish and sophisticated and add a touch of class to everyday outfits. I love them so much and they may be my favourite purchases of the day.
Being the beauty-lover that you all know I am, I had to make a stop at The Cosmetics Company Store too which sells highly discounted cosmetics from brands such as Estee Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, Origins, Tom Ford and Too Faced. Which all just so happen to be really high on my favourites list. The savings in here were quite noticeable too and I was impressed that they even had a discounted selection of Jo Malone products which I had to refrain from splurging on – I do love Jo Malone! The candles were a great buy and much cheaper than buying direct here in the UK.
Jimmy Choo was one of my favourite brands to visit during our morning at Vinelands. I love shoes as much as the next girl so checking out their range of stunning shoes and bags was drool-worthy. They had heavy discounts throughout the store and the selection was current too – which was nice to see. I had a real attachment to some sparkly heels and matching bag.
Next up was a visit to lululemon which is a great brand for active wear. If you’re looking for some new gym clothes or something for working out in then you need to pay the store a visit. They had jackets, hoodies and sweaters at $69 which then had a further 20% off, and I got some great work out leggings for $89 instead of $128. The quality of lululemon is well known for lasting and they’re a brand of high reputation so if you’re into fitness and loungewear make sure you stop by.
If you’re looking for the best places to shop in Orlando then you can’t miss a stop at Karl Lagerfeld. It’s one of those designer brands that offers premium designer quality with fun and quirky designs that keep everything fun. It’s fresh and always exciting and the buys blew me away! They had some of their trademark luggage and suitcases with cool designs from only $75 each – EACH! FOR DESIGNER LUGGAGE! As well as a beautiful black faux-leather lined dress and matching heels which together was less than $130.
Seeing as I’d enjoyed Jimmy Choo so much, I knew I’d have to stop by Steve Madden. I love their shoes and boots especially, so I wanted to see what I could pick up. The had an amazing offer in-store with outlet prices anyway so everything was really affordable but then for every item you purchased, you got another at 50% off. I got the most gorgeous cowboy style heeled boots in an ash grey colour which will be perfect for the autumn. They only cost me $79 – way cheaper than I’d ever find Steve Madden boots for here in the UK or anywhere else.
Next up on our designer shopping list was a stop at Coach. I always associate Coach with shopping in America but this time it blew me away more than ever. The deals in store were so good you could hardly believe them! They had 70% off retail price and then a further 20% off everything – which made things really, really affordable. I knew as soon as I walked in that I’d be leaving with a purchase because there was no way I was passing that up! I ended up deciding on a gorgeous purse which should have been $198 but with the combined discounts only cost me $46! AND I picked up the cutest coin purse as well for only $20 instead of $78. At those prices I could have gone crazy, but I had to reign myself in!
And finally we went to Ralph Lauren – one of the most well known brands for outlet shopping. I have splurged majorly in Ralph Lauren during various shopping trips and this time was no exception. The store had 60% off throughout and then I also had an extra 20% off coupon which I took full advantage of. I find that Ralph Lauren designs are timeless, especially for men and boys and this was where I treated my family. I purchased my husband a gorgeous white logo shirt for work which should have been $79 but I paid $51 for it. I then also got the boys matching hoodies and long sleeved tops for the winter which combined only cost me $65 – for all four items. Such a great deal.
These were just our favourite picks at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. Which as you can see was very designer focused and a real treat. If you’re looking for the best places to shop in Orlando for designer purchases that won’t break the bank then this should be your first stop. The outlets are located really centrally and you can see them from the highway so it’s difficult to miss. (For location they’re approximately 10-15 minutes drive from Disney Springs.) You’ll find so many other brands there to explore like we did. Find a full store directory here.
Orlando International Premium Outlets
The second half of our day was spent at Orlando International Premium Outlets, which I’d say is the more family focused outlet of the two. So it’s great for all your favourite everyday brands and it does still have some designers there too. For example it’s got it’s own Coach, Kate Spade, Armani, Hugo Boss etc so you can get the best of both and it’s great if you’ve got children with you and you don’t want to cart them round the designer boutiques. Josh and I found that there was a lot more appeal in the shops and their stock here for his age (9) and that was nice for him.
Orlando International Premium Outlets is one of the best places to shop in Orlando because it’s one of only four outlets in the US to have a Victoria’s Secret! Well, that’s certainly one of the reasons anyway! But if like me you’re a huge fan of their underwear, active wear and gift products then it’s 100% worth going for this store alone. The savings are huge. I find Victoria’s Secret to be quite pricey so it’s somewhere I only go for a treat but I managed to pick up a great pair of joggers and matching top for wearing at home in the evenings for $34 together. The value of both if I’d have purchased them in a non-outlet store would have been $90 – you really can’t go wrong with that sort of saving. The body products were all $5.99 each when usually they’re upwards of $15.99 per item. So I got a body lotion and a cute trademark soap for Christmas gifts for friends. Intimate items like bras were around $9.99 each with briefs being only $6.99 – the prices blew me away!
Next up was a visit to Michael Kors. I think I must have missed it at Vinelands so I was glad I could pay a visit at Orlando International Premium Outlets instead. And I’m so glad I did because even though I had already purchased my Kate Spade bag, I couldn’t ignore the huge savings in MK either and treated myself to another bag! I’d budgeted about $150 for a new bag and I got two for that (pretty much!) My gorgeous tan, square shoulder bag is the perfect colour for autumn and should have been $298 but I got it for only $71.20 with the discount. There were people in the store buying multiple bags (one man was buying about 40!) because the savings were that good. I felt so good with my bargain handbag.
Our next stop was Desigual which is newly opened at the outlets and a great place for everyday clothing. If you’re familiar with the brand you’ll know it’s all about bright colours and everyday styles so you can bring to life your outfits with their products. The outlet prices were low and had a further 50% off on the day too so it was a great stop on our journey. We also visited Levi’s and stocked up on jeans for my husband as well as t-shirts which were only $9.99. Again, the prices are so low you’d never get a Levi’s t-shirt for that anywhere else.
One of the reasons I think that Orlando International Premium Outlets is one of the best places to shop in Orlando if you have children is because it’s got a Disney Character Warehouse. Which people queue for so make sure you allow queue time. It’s pretty much the only place you’ll find official Disney merchandise at outlet prices so it’s easy to understand why it’s so popular and Josh very much enjoyed his visit! We got a Mickey Ears Hat for $9.99 which we’d seen for over double that in the theme parks and I picked up two Disney Dolls for only $9.99 each – absolutely crazy prices! Having seen how highly they’re priced in the parks, this was such a pleasant surprise especially as the assortment included Moana and Frozen – my best friend’s daughter will be so excited to open these at Christmas!
I couldn’t resist leaving without a purchase for me and snapped up some Little Mermaid Socks, which only cost me $4.99 for a pair and also a gorgeous scented Mickey Mouse shaped pillow in the shape of an ice cream cone which was scented like strawberry ice cream! It was only $9.99 and it still smells beautiful now we’ve got it home, plus it’s so cuddly the kids love it too.
We then moved on to H&M which is newly opened at Orlando International Premium Outlets. And it had their full collection from the current range which was really nice and meant I could pick up a couple of the skirts I’d been looking at. The store was huge – one of the biggest we went in, it was neat and tidy and the fact that it was all the current collection meant it was well worth stopping by.
Our final stop was one of my favourites – Bath & Body Works! Now this store isn’t an outlet store as the prices are the same as everywhere else. However if you’ve ever shopped in BBW before then you’ll know that they often have various offers on in-store. For example this time they had buy 3 get 3 free on all body products and $10 off candles (which usually retail for $24.99 each) so the various offers meant that I could stock up on all my favourite candles and body products for a really good amount. I came back with lots of autumn candles, bath and shower washes as well as car scents and the famous anti-bacs! I could honestly spend all my time (and money!) in Bath and Body Works so I was really pleased they had one for me to visit.
So if you’re shopping with your family then I highly recommend you check out Orlando International Premium Outlets as it’s one of the best places to shop in Orlando. The brands were focused on giving something for everyone – Mum, Dad and children of all ages could find something here and we had no shortage of fun. And this outlet too is quite centrally located and approximately a 20 minutes car ride from Disney Springs. Check out the full store directory here.
If shopping is something you’re looking to do in Florida then these are two of the best places to shop in Orlando with designer buys, family buys and lots of food and snack places, plus free parking means that you can shop to your heart’s content. I’m so thrilled with all of our purchases, we all got lots of treats and made our money go so much further. If you want to also set a specific shopping budget then you can get a Simon Malls Gift card which is like a pre-loaded gift card you can use in all the stores at the mall – so you’re guaranteed to stick to your budget. Thanks so much to Simon Malls for having us!
