I’ve fallen more and more in love with Makeup Revolution this past 12 months or so. I even filmed a YouTube tutorial and loved the products so much they’ve made it into my regular beauty stash. But recently I tried Revolution Pro, one of their dedicated brands and this is why I was seriously impressed…
If you’ve not yet tried anything from Revolution or it’s sister brands then I think you must have been living under a rock because their beauty releases come so thick and fast I don’t think any other brand can keep up. Where others may release a new product here or there, and occasionally a new collection, Revolution seem to add to their ‘new in’ section every few days. I’ve never known a brand release so much newness constantly – and I love it! It means there’s always something new to try and seeing as they’re famous for their dupes and affordable beauty alternatives, it’s totally acceptable to make regular hauls, right?
My most recent Revolution journey took me to Revolution Pro, the more pro-quality products with their own range. Premium packaging, a make up artist quality and still that great Revolution price. Oh and did I mention their products are all cruelty free? What’s not to love? With a huge collection on offer it was really hard to narrow down to some favourites, but trying the range has been a lot of fun for sure. And I have to admit that I’ve found some stunning stand out products that I think have to be my current favourites and the ones I recommend you check out right now…
New Neutral Luxe Shadow Palette – £12
Let’s call a spade a spade shall we? The Revolution Pro New Neutral Luxe Shadow Palette is a great dupe for the Huda New Nude. I have both so I can vouch for the performance and quality of the Revolution version and if you don’t want to splurge the £50+ on the Huda then trust me, you’ll miss nothing with this more affordable alternative. The colour payoff is excellent and really impressive – I’d go as far as to say it surprised me how good the shadows performed to be honest. And the shimmers and metallic finishes especially were on par quality-wise with the Huda. Plus for this time of year as we move into Autumn the shades are stunning, great for warm eye looks with a bit of sparkle and lots of defining shades for your crease and transition. This palette is sexy, affordable, good quality and a great make up staple for all types of make up lovers.
Ultimate Coverage Crease Proof Concealer – £7
As someone who never really falls in love with concealer, and doesn’t class it as an essential (even on bad skin days) I actually found that two of my stand out products from Revolution Pro were their concealers. The first of which is their Ultimate Coverage Crease Proof Concealer which is pretty nifty at my stage of life because it’s infused with hyaluronic acid and collagen which means it plumps the skin and those pesky fine lines while also covering them – exactly what I want around my problem areas. It’s a thick concealer and it really does have a full coverage payoff that means it covers dark eye bags, large breakouts and everything else you’d want it to. I find when I get spots (yuk) this is fabulous at concealing them and blends so well when applied with a brush. I’ll not go back to another concealer for my break outs now.
Brightening and Tightening Under Eye Concealing Wand – £7
The other concealer that was a stand out product was the Brightening and Tightening Under Eye Concealing Wand which has since become a feature in my daily make up bag. While the Crease Proof version above can cover under eye bags, it’s slightly too thick for that area, so the wand steps in and does a perfect job instead. As someone who’s current problem skincare area is her under eyes, this wasn’t lost on me as it instantly perks the whole area up. My usually dark bags look lighter and brighter with every use, so even if I’m knackered, I don’t look it. The wand applies perfectly with a seamless finish that I usually just dab in with my fingers or a sponge and it dries down to a great finish that sits well and lasts for hours. If you’re someone with dark under eye bags then you’ll love this as much as I do.
New Neutral Satin Matte Lipstick – £5
A good lipstick is always a winner in my eyes and for £5 with such beautiful and statement packaging, I was drawn to the New Neutral Satin Matte Lipsticks before I even tried them – and they didn’t disappoint. If you’re a matte lipstick lover you’ll enjoy this collection of 6 nude shades that offer an emphasised shade that compliments a neutral look. Amp up neutral nude lips with these! They remind me of a powdery lipstick finish and a strong payoff, a unique formula if ever there was one, and worth splurging on the whole range just for the price.
Sculpt & Glow Desert Sky – £8
If you’ve ever wanted those gorgeous buttery bronzers that everyone raves about then trust me you’re in for a treat with the Sculpt & Glow Desert Sky. There’s three shades of theses Contour and Highlight palettes both products come with a shimmery finish (the bronzers aren’t matte.) I love the Desert Sky version as the tones just work well for me – the bronzer is best for pale skin tones and the highlight is golden and warm, like a champagne tone that would also look lovely on the eyelids. Because it’s a buttery formula these products are perfect for the glowy and dewy make up lovers out there – they have such a soft formula that they pop with pigment and give you a seriously impression payoff.
New Neutral Translucent Pressed Powder – £6
As a matte girl, a good setting powder is something I use all day long and I have some very good and reliable brands on my dressing table. It’s not often I find a budget version that holds up as well – however the New Neutral Translucent Pressed Powder comes very close, and it’s only £6 so I can’t fault it for the price. It offers more of a matte/satin finish as oppose to a proper matte finish, but it holds make up in place well and stops it running for a good few hours – even in the heat. It also doesn’t fall into creases or wrinkles, which is perfect around the eyes and forehead so if you worry about powders doing that then your safe with this one.
Goddess Glow Primer Serum – £10
I’m not usually hooked on these sorts of products. I mean, I like them and I try lots of variations but I can’t say that this is the sort of thing I reach for daily – probably because I’m a matte girl. However the way the Goddess Glow Primer Serum works is almost enough to convert even me, and that’s saying something. It’s like applying liquid gold to your face as a primer and it gives this stunning yet natural glow that’s radiant and noticeable through foundation. It’s been perfect for special occasions and evenings out. If you’re someone who likes a glowy finish then this is perfect – it’s going to give your complexion an instant glow. What’s more is that it’s a lovely primer that gives make up a great base. You could also apply to moisturiser for an all-over body glow if you wanted to.
So those are my current favourite and top picks from Revolution Pro and I have to admit it was HARD to narrow down seeing as the whole range is pretty cool with a lot to discover. I want to focus on the foundations from Revolutions next and do a run down of the different ones as they have so many options and you guys know I’m on the hunt for the perfect foundation!
What are your thoughts on Revolution and Revolution Pro? Are these the sort of products you’d like to try out this season?
