The launch of pumpkin spice everything marks the sign of autumn doesn’t it? It’s my excuse to welcome my favourite season too. Here’s a range of K-Beauty products you’ll want to try if you’re pumpkin anything mad like me…
I haven’t tried much K-beauty in my time. I’m kinda ashamed to admit that really but it’s for no other reason than not too many products have crossed my path. So when I got the opportunity to try the Too Cool For School Range I was happy to welcome some k-beauty to my stash.
Too Cool For School are a brand with a lot about them. Founded in New York they combine k-beauty principles with high artistic collaborative packaging. I was so interested to read about how art plays such a huge importance in their brand, as it gives them a whole new level of kudos to me.
Along with being the skincare brand with a cult following in South Korea, and being hipster levels of cool in design, they’re also just a really nice brand to experiment with during your pamper sessions. I tried a few bits from them and was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. I’m a bit cynical these days about products that look too gimmicky but Too Cool For School are able to reinforce their style with products that do actually have a nice result. And there’s nothing more you can want when you experiment with new skincare, right?
I must admit that I tried the Coconut Oil Serum Patches first which I haven’t photographed because they were on my face the day they arrived – I was that eager to try them! I love anything with coconut oil and my under eye area is my target area right now so they were first to be tried. For only £6 they massively nourished and hydrated the area and things looked a lot brighter instantly. I used them in the evening after my normal skincare regime and was very pleased with the outcome – it’s rare that any type of skincare will give me an instant result so seeing the area look so much better meant I went and repurchased these twice afterwards too.
Next up was the pure autumnal goodness: the Pumpkin Sleeping Pack. If autumn makes you reach for all things pumpkin then you’re going to love this because it smells absolutely yummy and if you like Pumpkin Spice lattes then grab one before applying this for the maximum autumnal vibes!
Technically it’s a moisturiser that you use before bedtime, and it’s enriched with pumpkin which is classed as a superfood so it’s lovely for the skin. It’s the sort of product I’d class as a sleeping mask as well as a nightly moisturiser. It’s got a gel-like texture that feels like a cream so it applies nicely across the face and it’s designed to encourage skin to look replenished by morning. As the temperatures change and things get chilly, skin can look dull and a bit lifeless so using a product like this with it’s added vitamin A and C gives a boost that increases radiance. It’s also enriched with natural enzymes that mean it works a little like an exfoliator too so it’s one of those great products that does a lot of things and you’ll reach for a lot. Perfect for autumnal bathroom shelves.
If you’re wanting an extra strength of pumpkin in your skincare, like you do in your coffee, then you could also try the Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask which is a single use sheet mask enriched with the superfood again. I found that this left skin radiant and brighter, mostly across my cheeks. I used it in the evening and it had a nice finish on the skin, things looked healthy with that post-face mask shine and skin felt hydrated without being oily. It’s an £8 sheet mask so an expected price. I’d say if you have dry skin you’d get the best from this, but I enjoyed it as an oily skin person too.
So if you’re looking to either try some k-beauty skincare that actually performs, or you just want the novelty of trying some pumpkin themed skincare to go all out with your autumnal mood then I recommend these bits. You can’t beat a bit of fun in your skincare, and why should it be boring? I love the packaging, the design, the scent and the lovely bit of ‘fun’ these products added to my regime.
