June has now closed it’s doors on us and July has welcomed us in. Here’s hoping that the one weekend we had of hot weather wasn’t actually the whole summer. And that she’s planning on making a reappearance very soon – because I’m not ready for that to have been it.
June was a busy work month for me so I was chained to my desk a lot but we did have a friends wedding, a weekend away and my husband got a new job. So lots of moving and shaking! So without boring you with too much blabbering, here’s all of the biggest and best bits that came through the door in June…
L’Oréal Paris Smooth Sugar Wake-Up Coffee Face and Lip Scrub
Anyone else need a coffee first thing in the morning to wake up? Well skin needs a perk-me-up of caffeine too! And just like it does for the inside of our bodies, caffeine can awaken the skin on the outside too. The new L’Oréal Paris Smooth Sugar Wake-Up Coffee Face and Lip Scrub is a great face mask or pampering treatment to exfoliate the skin and leave it looking fresh. The coffee grains within it work to buff away dead cells, and then as a result new, fresh skin is revealed. It also contains coconut oil and sweet almond oil to soften and make sure the area looks smooth too. It’s a great budget friendly buy too as it only costs £9.99.
Magnitone London WipeOut
I’ve been quite intrigued by all the alternatives to single-use make up removing products. All these cloths doing the rounds at the moment are great for the environment as you can reuse them as many times as you want – which is something I’m getting more passionate about. The Magnitone London WipeOut cloths arrive in June and I have just started using them and I’m seriously impressed. They make taking up your make up super easy and far less messy than normal, I think for the price (£15 for 2) you can’t complain either. Environmentally friendly and they do a pretty good job too.
Misslyn Travel Kit
You can’t beat an all-in-one palette for the summer, right? And this affordable Travel Kit version from Misslyn contains a bronzer, blusher, highlighter and setting powder too. It’s basically all your complexion powders in one trusty little palette. I love Misslyn products because they give me major Benefit-dupe vibes without a hefty price tag – they’re fun products with even better packaging. Plus you can pick up the cutest matching brushes too.
Filorga NCEF-Reverse Eyes
This little spaceship looking pot arrived on my doorstep a little while ago and oh-my-days, I’m impressed. It is so, so good. Not only does the Filorga NCEF-Reverse Eyes Cream moisturise my under eye area properly – which is something I’ve been finding hard of late, but it also really helps to depuff my eyes in the morning. I tend to apply the tiniest bit in the mornings if my eyes look a bit more sleepy or puffy and it takes the whole area down significantly. Generally though, I use in the evenings and I’m working on building this up to every day use. It’s currently made a nice difference to the creases around my eye corner and it’s an eye cream with a big thumbs up from me.
Lumene Invisible Illumination Instant Glow Fresh Skin Tint
Now this product arrived only a few days ago and I am so excited to try it out when I go on holiday. I’m expecting BIG things! The Lumene Invisible Illumination Instant Glow Fresh Skin Tint is a make up and skincare hybrid that moisturises and nourishes skin for up to 24 hours but also gives coverage that’s aided with the most subtle glow. It’s going to be a summer essential, especially when I go on holiday soon as I’ll wear it when I’m tanned and don’t need much on my skin. Now available from Feel Unique.
True Skincare Certified Organic Clarifying Safflower & Geranium Cleansing Oil
A Cleansing Oil isn’t something I often go for. I have tried some recently but it wouldn’t be my go-to formula for a cleanser. Mostly because I have oily skin and oils terrify me a bit! However this True Skincare Certified Organic Clarifying Safflower & Geranium Cleansing Oil is only £12 and sounds pretty good, so I’m going to add it to my trial box this month. Containing organic ingredients it’s green-friendly and it’s supposed to remove even waterproof mascara. If this works I can only assume it would be a great product for bathroom shelves because oil is the most gentle texture for removing build up/make up etc.
Mii Cosmetics Celestial Skin Shimmer Blusher and Highlighter
Sometimes you get mail that just makes you smile – and opening the Mii Cosmetics Celestial Skin Shimmer Blusher and Highlighter was one of those moments. I love their products and this compact is so pretty – I’m planning on using this in an upcoming tutorial on my YouTube channel as I think it will look lovely on post-holiday skin. Containing multiple shades of blush and highlight, this product will look great on cheekbones and collarbones throughout the summer. I’d also love to try this on my eyes too – I’m thinking chilled summer evenings… Also highly recommend trying the Mii Cosmetics lipsticks and lipglosses for a pop of summer colour to match.
Be3 Sun Protection Progressive Spray
A Selfridges exclusive, the new Be3 Sun Protection Progressive Spray was a new one on me when it arrived. Claiming to basically increase sun protection and give you three different SPF coverings in one product, it sounds interesting for sure. The idea is that you spray once for a lower SPF, twice for something higher and three times for full SPF coverage. If it works then this could save everyone a lot of sunburn during their holidays as you’d only effectively ever be topping up your protection, rather than having to reapply afresh. I’ll use it on holiday and report back.
So there’s my June favourites and new in beauty picks! What do you guys think? Are there any products catching your eye here for July?
