Five Reasons To Try The Too Faced Pretty Mess Collection

Too Faced Pretty Mess Review

One of the best brands for fun launches, Too Faced launched their Pretty Mess collab with Erika Jayne. It’s sexy, girlie and it’s all about being larger than life. Here’s five reasons to try it…

One of my ride-or-die brands is Too Faced. You’ll know this because they rarely launch a collection without me buying in to it. I feel their products bring a sense of fun to make up and beauty, an experimental, girlie and fun edge that you just don’t see that much from established brands elsewhere. Where other brands can do fun on some level, it’s often a little bit gimmicky, and to be honest, a lot of those ranges fail to pack a punch with poorly performing products. Too Faced on the other hand have established their formulas and methods so they deliver results to the top standard – and avoid gimmicks. It’s fun and quality all in one. And it’s why I love them.

Their Pretty Mess range was a new collaboration with Erika Jayne – one of the wives from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s also a singer, entertainer and bit of everything-er. She’s glamorous and sexy and I loved that she was the partner to this range. So, with that little intro done (I like to be efficient, as you can tell!) here are the reasons why I personally think you need to try the Pretty Mess Collection…

1. It’s loud, voluminous and larger than life so it’s going to amp up your make up looks

If you’re looking to mix up your make up looks then this collection is going to give you high voltage energy. You’ll be able to create some glamorous looks embodying everything you want from a Beverly Hills inspired range: glow to the max, shimmer the night away and a lot of dimension in all the products. There’s not a matte lipstick in sight: this range is all about that shimmer and glitter finish in every product. It’s not for the faint hearted – and that’s why it’s fun!

2. Take your make up from daytime to dance floor

Erika Jayne herself is a housewife by day and a club star by night and this range is designed to help you live the best of both. I really like how there’s some more subdued tones in the eyeshadow palette along with a more pale lip kit called the Polite Lips set with a pale pink lip gloss and matching liner. It’s your bubblegum sweet shade that’s perfect for everyday. Then move to the dance floor at night and switch out for the DSL Kit which has a colourful fuchsia lip liner and golden fuchsia gloss that amp up the lips in colour. Pretty Mess has got the best of both.

3. You can plump your lips without the need for the stereotypical surgical process

Despite the stereotypical Beverly Hills Wife having the money for cosmetic surgery, not all of us do. And Pretty Rich helps to bridge that gap with the Lip Injection in the range. The tried and tested Too Faced formula comes in bright pink for the first time ever. Called the Painkiller Pink Lip Injection Extreme, this gloss-like product plumps the lips with immediate effect. I’ve used this before and it does give a real tingling effect so beware of that but it does also plump quite nicely. If you want fuller lips without surgery then this is the colourful way of getting them.

4. Get the perfect bronzed glow for spring

Within the range you’ve also got an all over body highlight/shimmer, and what’s more, it’s kissable! The Pat The Puss (!) Body Shimmer is a loose powder with application puff that can be worn directly on the skin for a really prominent shimmer, or mixed with a body moisturiser for something more gentle. The powder has a rose gold hue to it, so it’s flattering for most skin tones and it’s the soft of product that’s going to look great across the collab bone, chest and shoulders when spring arrives and we’re not covered away under knitwear any more!

5. The shades are versatile enough for anyone to be able to play with

Some themed make up ranges really don’t always accommodate well for versatility. It’s not on purpose, but sometimes it’s just not always possible. However I feel like Pretty Mess does this well because the shades of all the products can be used by all skin tones. The fact that all products have shimmer and dimension in the finish gives them a more adaptable edge because it’s easier for a product to be versatile with this sort of finish as opposed to something matte.

So if you’re looking to not just glow-up, but glam-up then the Pretty Mess range is going to offer everything you need to totally get out of your comfort zone. Get glam, get sexy, get fun. And ultimately if you can’t have fun with your make up, what can you have fun with?!

I love Erika Jayne and the packaging and shade names are completely on point as she’s known for her ultra-glam life style and outspokenness. The highlighter looks beautiful.

I would have had no idea who Erika Jayne is unless you explained. I just don’t do any kind of reality TV at all. The colours are pretty but I think a little too young for me with all the shimmer. Now my 15yr old daughter would love all of it! 😀
