This Mother’s Day give your mum something she’ll love – not in the cheesy way but because she’s going to need it. Especially if she’s got small children because this year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 31st of march a.k.a Daylight Savings Day. So by some cruel twist of fate or a serious case of a sick joke, us mothers lose an hour of sleep on Mother’s Day. The one day of the year we should all be allowed a teeny lie-in anyway. So yes, to soften the blow I think it’s extra important that this Mother’s Day all Mummies, aunties, friends and anyone else, all get something special.
If you’re short on time I’ve compiled a list of options to help make it simple, and all of them are from Fragrance Direct. It’s the one place you’ll hear me rave about a lot because they have quality products and all the best premium and budget brands, and all with a good discount. I’ve saved a small fortune shopping there both on special occasions, and also just when I need regular beauty products. (Their hair care range is my go-to right now.) Their selection of products is ever growing and I’ve picked out some key goodies that would make THE perfect gift for Mother’s Day.
Every woman needs a good cleanser. No, a great cleanser in her life. Whether you’re a skincare junkie or just do the basics, a great cleanser is a key product to have at home. It’s the starting point to daily skincare because at the very least you’ll need to cleanse and tone. (Followed by moisturising.) The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is the best type of cleanser too because it literally melts away the day – it melts make up, dirt, pollution and build up while gently pulling it away to leave clear looking and clean feeling skin. Having really been converted to Cleansing Balms recently, this is one of my favourites as the smell is almost aromatherapy-like so it’s uber relaxing to use. It’s also designed to combat ageing in a gentle way with it’s increased ingredients to help with collagen levels. So it’s one of those wonder products that works to remove traces of the day, cleanse and it’s got targeted skincare properties too. It’s a one to get and one to give kind of product.

Any mama will tell you that eye bags are a trick of the trade. If you’ve got children, you’ve usually got under eye bags (and how many children you have, will likely dictate how dark they are – haha, kidding…kinda!) So a sure-win for anyone would be a great under eye cream to really target tired looking eyes, so at least we can fake being wide awake even if we don’t feel it. The Decleor Aurabsolu Intense Glow Dark Circle Corrector contains caffeine as well as vitamin B3 which together work to target dull, tired looking eyes and give them a hit of awakeness. Considering it’s such a heavy hit of goodness, this cream isn’t heavy and it doesn’t feel too much on the skin – it’s light enough so that even sensitive skin types can enjoy it. I find creams like this are ace for the mornings when you’ve had little sleep or are feeling super stressed.

If ever I needed another reason to shop at Fragrance Direct, it’s the fact that it’s one of few places you can purchase Tom Ford products at a discount. Which is so rare it’s virtually unheard of. Black Orchid is one of the more statement scents in the perfume range and as someone with several Tom Ford perfumes, their level of scent is never lost on me. It’s musky and seductive to the max, it’s just purely delicious. Any woman would love to find a Tom Ford fragrance waiting for her on Mother’s Day and there’s always new ones in stock at Fragrance Direct – but be quick, they go fast so you need to snap them up when you see them. Guaranteed to give a huge smile.
One of my favourite skincare discoveries from last year was the Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon. It was one of those products I looked forward to trying and when I finally did, it surpassed expectations and I’ve recommended it to a lot of people since. What I loved about this was firstly the scent: it contains French Lavender Essential Oil so when you apply it, it’s got this wonderful and relaxing aroma that’s perfect for bedtime – because that is when you’re supposed to use it. And that’s another reason I loved it – I’m a HUGE fan of products that are designed for overnight treatment because you literally don’t have to do a thing and they work while you sleep. Perfect for busy mums, right? And the third thing I loved about it was the texture: its a creamy-gel liquid that almost turns to oil on the skin and applies like a dream. It works to wake the skin up, so come morning you look radiant and wide awake. I loved how much more of a radiant everyday glow this gave me. It’s fabulous for busy mums who don’t have time for skincare.

When I saw Huda Beauty products on Fragrance Direct a few weeks ago, I actually squealed. This mama loves Huda Beauty so finding them on my favourite discount beauty website was amazing news! I’m hoping that more products come to the site soon as my bank balance would love me for it! So if you have a beauty loving lady to buy for this Mother’s Day then the Huda Beauty Lip Contour Sets are a great place to start. There’s three shades available with Trendsetter being the most neutral toned nude in the selection. Each set contains two liquid lipsticks in the winning matte formula that everyone raves about, and you then also get a matching lip liner to help create a fuller looking lip. The indulgence of this brand means a winning gift for any beauty lover this Mother’s Day.

They usually have extra offers on and right now they also have £10 off a £50 spend too, so really there’s no better place to do your Mother’s Day shopping this year!
