If you guys still have’t heard of Sigma, then I worry you’re a.) living under a rock or b.) seriously missing out. The American beauty brand are one of the most well known pro-brands out there, with make up artists the world over using their brushes on the rich and famous. I’ve been a Sigma fan for years because their brushes are some of the best in my collection and I still have yet to find many that measure up. What initially appealed to me was the reputation they had, so I started with the brushes and graduated into their make up collection too. Which is why you’ll find my blog full of references and posts talking about both. You can’t beat a Sigma product if you’re a beauty lover.
Speaking of their make up collection, it may not be the biggest range you’ve ever seen, but it’s a case of ‘small and mighty’. Sigma don’t do things by halves: their products are created to work and work the best. Their range has everything you’d need for a full face so it’s be no means tiny, but when you buy their make up products you know you’re getting the same level of expertise and the same professional standard as their brushes. Which is why I have yet to find a Sigma product – make up or brush – that doesn’t measure up. Yes, they’re that good.
Having seen their make up collection introduce some amazing launches this past year, I’d noticed how many levels their products were going up. There’s been launch after launch of amazingly co-ordinated make up products, absolutely nailing current trends and it’s been a really exciting time to be a fan of the brand. It’s been the best year yet for Sigma in my opinion. So being blown away with all the launches this past year, I wasn’t expecting to be completely mind blown when the Dream Palette arrived. But I was.
The Dream Palette is Sigma’s newest eyeshadow palette with beauty influencer BeautyyBird. Created together, the palette itself could quite possibly be the best eyeshadow palette from Sigma to date. And it takes a lot for me to make a statement like that. A huge palette housing 18 eyeshadows and 2 highlighters, there’s something for everyone in here. If you like a pop of colour on your lids, it’s got you covered. If you like neutrals, it’s got you covered. No matter what type of eye look you want, you’ll be able to achieve it with this. And as a smokey eye lover, I can testify that it’s amazing for creating those sultry smokey eyes we all love.
With a good split between mattes and shimmers, the palette gives golden goddess vibes and gives you all the feels just from looking at it…it’s one hell of a good looking palette. And it comes with an accompanying brush, which is doubled ended with two of the brands best loved eye brushes: the E58 and E38. Perfect for creating any look you want. Combining the palette with a great brush makes it an even purchase for your make up collection.
As with all Sigma powder products, I find the shadows in the Dream Palette really creamy. Soft and blendable, they move where you want them to and apply really well. The shadows stick to skin well, without sinking into fine lines, which means smokey eyes are perfectly created with these shades. Not only that but there’s very limited fallout in the palette or on the eyes, which shows how creamy the texture is. The mattes give good and rich payoff with only one swipe and it’s buildable colour too if you’re going for maximum coverage. The shimmers just make me swoon – they blend like cream and one swipe is all you’ll need. (I do find these ones apply better with the fingers as the heat in the skin warms them perfectly to apply to the lid without losing product or getting fallout.)
To create the perfect smokey eye star with the crease and transition in mattes and then cut the crease with a concealer. From there apply your shimmer to the lid and add a smokey outer eye. This palette makes those every day looks easy to achieve even if you’re not that experienced in creating them. The quality of a Sigma palette is hard to beat and the colour selection in this one is fun and exciting as well as totally current – the pink tones add that warmth to the shade selection that everyone seems to be going for right now. Combining colous with everyday golds/neutrals isn’t always easy and a palette can sometimes look a bit mis-matched as a result. But not the Dream Palette. It looks comprehensive and like you’ll not need another palette at all. It’s basically just nailed everything I love in eyeshadow palettes: great colours, useable tones for everyday and special occasions, top quality and great formula for the best application.
I think it’s safe to say this could quite possibly be my favourite Sigma palette to date. Keep checking the website to find out when it’s back in stock as it sold out so fast last time that you’ll want to snap it up in the restock.
