It’s no secret that I’m working my way through this year’s biggest and best Advent Calendars – and quite honestly, I’m loving it! I’m a sucker for beauty Advent Calendar’s anyway but this year has surpassed all expectations with so many new additions and amazing collaborations. I’m blown away to say the least. And to me as a content creator, reviewing the calendars for you guys means I can talk about what’s inside and tell you which ones are worth splurging on. Like The Body Shop 25 Days of Enchanted Ultimate Calendar.
Of all the calendars I’m currently working through, I’m not even ashamed to admit that this one has been, by far, the biggest surprise of the season. I love The Body Shop Christmas ranges, but the theme of the Enchanted Forest this year is gorgeous – the packaging is stunning. (I’ve even kept my calendar box as it’s too pretty to throw away!) Working in partnership with The Woodland Trust this year, the theme of their seasonal collection has a great connotation behind it – which offers a value far deeper than just buying a beauty advent calendar. Because you get to support such a worthy cause with your spend. The natural animal theme makes this a special range on it’s own – the cute animal designs combined with a festive edge make it super cute and appealing and I can’t imagine anyone disliking the packaging.
This year, The Body Shop have release three different calendar and in my opinion they’re like a gold, silver and bronze budget range. I’ve got the Enchanted Ultimate Calendar, which is like the gold level and priced at £99. But there’s also the Deluxe Enchanted Calendar (also 25 days and £65) and the standard Enchanted Calendar (which is 24 days and £45.)

As you’ll have seen in the video, the calendar blew me away. Having tried so many calendars, that on it’s own surprised me. The contents were all really great sizes – no sample sizes in sight – hurrah! Lots were full sizes and a few were travel sizes, but overall the amount of product you get for your money is really good. Making it a good return on investment in terms of that.
What I also loved about this calendar in particular was that I consider it to be ‘family friendly’. Not what you’d expect for a ‘beauty calendar’ but indeed the variation of products inside would suit your whole family. There was a mix of things like face masks for me as the mum, and then fragrance-free and gentle products that would suit my fiance. There were also fun fragrances from the Christmas range in bubble bath form etc, that my children would love. So overall if you want a whole-family calendar that’s moving away from the chocolate variety this may surprise you as being a great contender.
Going back to the specific products. What I like to do with my reviews is tell you what the stand-out products are for me. Which is hard with this calendar because there were so many. The top one’s would have to be the Moringa products. Behind one door we got a full 250ml bottle of the Shower Gel and behind another door got a 200ml of the matching Body Yogurt (watch the video for my reaction to these!) The scent of the Moringa range is similar to lilies – which I love. It’s fragrant and floral and just so warming and yummy. It’s not too sickly sweet that the whole family wouldn’t use it – although I’m going to find it tough to share these too as I love the fragrance so much.
Another favourite would have to be the full sized Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. I had been DESPERATE to try this mask for ages thanks to everyone on Instagram raving about it earlier this year. So finding a whole full-sized pot was amazing. Designed to unclog pores, the texture is so similar to actual mud so you feel like it’s going to actually deliver mud-mask results. I can’t fault the masks in this calendar and this one made me a very happy lady!
I was also really happy to find a 30ml Oils of Life Facial Oil in the calendar. Having tried this a while back and loved it, I only recently recommended it to a friend of mine who was asking for oil recommendations. I’ve yet to hear from anyone who has tried this oil and not got on with it, because it works to deliver a youthful glow and perk the skin up a lot. Plus a 30ml is a pretty good standard size, so you’ll be stocked up for the new year.
Christmas scent wise the Berry Bon Bon Body Butter was a great find. The 50ml tub is the perfect trial size and my son loves coating himself in this after bath time. It smells so sweet – like actual sweeties and it’s a nice way of incorporating some of their Christmas editions into the calendar.
One product I am always given at Christmas is The Body Shop hand creams and inside the calendar was a few hand cream varieties. The best for me was the huge 100ml British Rose fragranced cream. With the essence of hand-picked British roses captured in the scent, this one is perfect for ladies everywhere with dry hands – like me. It’s great for popping in your handbag and keeping it there during winter months for when your hands need a pick-me-up.

As far as this year’s calendars go, this one is up there as one of my favourites. I didn’t expect to love this one as much as I do but everything from the cute animal design to the collaboration with the Woodland Trust and the stunning quality of products inside, has meant it’s one of this year’s best.
