It’s time, it’s time!
I LOVE Gift Guide season and I have been working SO hard to make sure that mine are the definite guides with all the products you’ll want to pick up this Christmas. As ever, there’s so many amazing products and deals on that I’ve split my guides up by theme, with this one being dedicated to the best Gift Sets of 2018. I’ve hand picked all of these myself because I feel they’re the ones that are a cut above the rest, offer great value and/or are just that little bit special and worthy of being a gift. So let’s get straight into my Gift Guide: the Gift Set edit!
This Works Sleep Together Gift Set – £28
When it comes to sleepy products (the sort designed to help you sleep better and deeper) This Works are always the brand that springs to mind. Although many have now followed suit and created sleepy sprays, This Works were one of the original brands to create a dedicated sleep spray for your pillow. Having used this for over 2 years myself, I can fully vouch for how good it is. The aroma within the blend is spritzed over the pillow before you go to bed, which helps to encourage a deeper sense of calm and relation and so it should help you to sleep better. I always feel more restful when I use this. The Sleep Together Gift Set has a value of £36 because it has a full sized Sleep Spray but it also comes with a matching Breathe In Rollerball which is applied to pressure points to better encourage that calm. Great for those who struggle with sleep, or lead very busy, active lives.
Tropic Skincare Mini Whipped Velvet Body Collection – £28
If you’re a fan of natural skincare then you’ve probably got Tropic Skincare on your radar already. To be fair, their products are fab and I recommend them a lot, so I knew I’d be having a browse of their Christmas collection. One of my favourites this year has to be the Mini Whipped Velvet Body Collection. As a sucker for anything that’s scented nicely, the names of the scents drew me in – Pomelo, Passion Fruit & Coconut. And I can confirm they all smell divine! The set contains one of each scent in their Whipped Velvet Body Collection – which is almost a creamy, mousse-like body cream. For rich nourishment that even sensitive skin can enjoy, this set is great value, smells divine and it gets a big tick for being au-natural. Great for those who prefer vegan friendly, cruelty free beauty products.
Aromatherapy Associates The Power of Rose Set – £28
A brand on my Christmas shopping list every year is Aromatherapy Associates because their gift sets are such great value. My top pick this year is this Power of Rose Gift Set. At £28 it’s a great price for the brand and you get a gorgeous toiletry bag which holds Body Wash, Body Gel and Body Cream all in 40ml size. Rose Essential Oils are considered to be the ones that nourish and boost confidence so this gift set is more than a beauty set, it’s a mindful and thoughtful treat. And these products are hand crafted with over 200 rose petals. So they’re top level in potency and smell amazing! Perfect for those who prefer a simple yet more enriched gift set.
Tigi Bed Head Bigged Up Gift Set – £25
A great value hair set, the combined value of the products in this set is over £30 so you’re getting a nice little saving and a snazzy looking gift. Hair lovers adore Tigi products so their gift sets are a great choice at Christmas and the Bigged Up Gift Set is perfect for female hair which needs styling help. The set includes two full size products – the Superstar Queen For A Day Thickening Spray, which is a texturing spray that thickens and adds boost – which is great for fine hair that lacks energy. The set also includes a full size Oh Bee Hive! which is a dry shampoo that adds a matte layer to the root of the hair and removes grease to give hair longer between washing – a practical product for all hair types. And the reason I love this is because it’s one of the few dry shampoo’s that doesn’t leave a white residue. Best for the hair care lover.
Gatineau Gentle Silk Cleansing Christmas Set – £25
I really like this skincare set because a.) it’s great value – there’s over £60 worth of products in here for £25, but b.) because it’s the perfect set to help establish your skincare regime. This Gentle Silk Cleansing Set features everything you need to start your normal skincare: a cleanser, toner and a specialised eye make up remover. Between these three you’ll be able to remove make up, prep skin for the next stage of your regime and it also comes with a muslin cloth which is used with the cleanser to remove all traces of build up, dirt etc. (Basically anything that blocks the pores.) For £25 it’s a gorgeous looking set, that will look great under any tree and it can be enjoyed by all skin types. Perfect for those who want to start a great skincare regime.
Cowshed Bath & Sleep Set – £50
Cowshed are a relatively new discovery for me in the beauty and bath world. But I wish I’d discovered them earlier, especially their bath gift sets because they make gorgeous Christmas Gifts. This year my pick of their range would have to be the Bath & Sleep set which has a huge tub of calming bath salts to relax with, as well as a matching candle – which makes for a perfect chilled night in the bath. The set also has a relaxingly scented bath and shower gel, a body oil and then a pillow mist too. So it’s basically everything you need to have an unwinding evening that will help you de-stress and relax after a busy week. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want this as it’s the perfect pamper night in a box.
GlamGlow Forget The Filter Set – £30
Naturally, my GlamGlow-loving self knew I had to feature one of their sets on my Gift Guide. Their face masks are some of my favourites and I rave about them all.the.time. They have some really gorgeous sets this Christmas but I love the Forget The Filter Set because it’s not going to break the bank and has a £51 value! It features the FULL SIZE Instamud which is their newest product and bubbles up on the skin. This one works on the pores while the accompanying Illuminating moisturiser gives skin a great every day glow. It’s a pale nude tone with a slight shimmer that looks great as a moisturiser and make up base. Will be a winner for the Instagram generation and the face mask fans.
Oskia Secret Book of Beauty – £48
This is one gift set that blew me away. The luxury you get in any of the Oskia products is something their brand is well known for, so I expected it in their gift sets. But this year’s offering blew me away. The Little Book of Beauty even looks gorgeous – ribbon tied, it contains a travel size of their Renaissance Cleansing Gel which is their cult status product. It’s a vitamin and enzyme cleanser that works to brighten the skin and has a nice gel-to-oil texture. Getting a good size of this in the set is a huge winner from me. But you also get mini sizes of their Micro Exfoliating Balm, their Renaissance Mask and the Restoration Oil. Not only does it look gorgeous and luxurious, it’s packed full of great, natural products from a fabulous British brand. Perfect for those who take their skin care seriously.
Ren Clean Skincare Face Favourites Gift Set – £32
Ren Clean Skincare have been a recent discovery for me, having only really got acquainted with their products this year. But I so wish I had done sooner because their products have really impressed me. Particularly the Evercalm range and their new AHA toner. Fortunately they have their Face Favourites Gift Set which has the Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream in it, so this is the set I recommend from them. The Global Protection Day Cream is a 50ml size and is designed for sensitive skin, but even if you don’t have that, you can really enjoy this – I did. It repairs the skin’s natural barriers which helps it to protect itself better so it’s nourishing and repairing in one. The set also contains a mini version of the Radiance Renewal Mask which also has AHA (you can see why this set was my pick from Ren can’t you?!) and also a gel-serum called Young & Beautiful Instant Firming Shot. All of these come in a gorgeously designed box from Kikki K. Perfect for…anyone! It’s a great all-rounder.
Liz Earle Bright Eyed Beauty – £42
I do love a gift set that’s dedicated to specific areas of the face. We all have parts that we class as our ‘problem’ areas and mine right now is my under eyes, so the Liz Earle Bright Eyed Beauty Set looks perfect for those of us worrying about this area. Containing the Superskin Eye Cream, this set is going to give you more than beauty gifts at Christmas – it will give you back some under eye confidence! This is because the Superskin Eye Cream is a really great cream for helping to fill the lines underneath the eyes, while plumping the area too. It makes them look more awake and smooth, which instantly creates more confidence. And the set also contains the Eyebright Soothing Lotion which works to soothe the area and is great for the stage in your skincare that comes between make up removal and serums. (It’s nice and relaxing to use.) And just to finish the set off, you get a gorgeous headband to keep hair off the face while you’re pampering. Liz Earle gift sets sell out fast so stock up quickly on this. Best for those who worry about the under eye area.
Elemis Travel Treasures For Her – £57
Now this one is a set I couldn’t resist and I swooned hard as soon as I saw it. In fact, I’m wrapping this one back up and putting it under the tree: To me, From me. Because the Travel Treasure For Her Set is worth a huge £92! That’s a huge saving! And because it’s Elemis, you know the products are going to be great. What I like about this Gift Set though is that it features products both for the body and the face, so you’ve got everything you need in one – and it all comes in a gorgeous travel bag too. From Facial Wash and Toner you’ve got the cleansing and cleaning facial routine sorted then you’ve got dedicated skincare with the Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules and a personal favourite of mine, the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. This on it’s own works to reduce fine lines and smooth the skin – it’s a cult product and I love that it’s included. You then get travel sizes of the Sea Lavender & Samphire Bath & Shower Milk and matching hand and nail cream. So it’s a really comprehensive set. This one is going to be something I look forward to opening on Christmas morning, I almost can’t wait! Perfect for the person who travels a lot or the skincare elite.
Emma Hardie Instant Radiance Kit – £60
I don’t think there’s many people who ask me for cleansing recommendations, who I don’t advise to try the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. It’s such a great cleanser and I think everyone loves a good cleansing balm these days. This Instant Radiance Set is one of my top picks for Christmas because it features a full size, 50ml version and matching cloth. Which on it’s own is £47 per 100ml, so it’s a great price. You also get the matching Moringa Treatment Mask (which I’m desperate to try!) as well as their Brilliance Facial Oil. So this set really has it all for a great and thorough skincare pamper session. Cleanse first, pamper with a mask and finish with the oil. I love the Moringa products because they clean the skin gently but thoroughly and remove all traces of dirt, make up and build up. So I love that this set contains products from that range. What’s more is that the set is £60 but worth a HUGE £118, so it’s really a case of, can you afford to not get this one?! Plus the golden box looks super fancy and exclusive too, so any skincare fan would love to find this under their tree. Best for those who love a skincare pamper session or want to up their skincare game.
Image Skincare Balance and Brighten Set – £99
Okay so naturally I wanted to feature a blow-the-budget option in the beauty gift set arena, and I found the Image Skincare Balance & Brighten set to be a great option. Pricey, as it costs £99 BUT it’s worth it because the products inside are all full size and can be enjoyed by pretty much all skin types. The set features an organic blended gel-cleanser that has 2-in-1 action so it works like your cleanser and toner in one. So no need for a second step. Then the Lightening Serum works to combat redness, uneven tone and general discoloration. And it’s also got a full size Mosituriser with built-in SPF and my favourite element is that it dries down to a matte finish – hurrah for the oily skin people like me! So this set will give a great full system skincare regime in one gorgeous marble effect bag. This set is perfect for those whose skincare you know well, as giving full size products is generous and thoughtful, so it will get a big thumbs up. Best for Mums and those who you like to spend more on and really treat at Christmas.
So there you have it! All my top Christmas picks for the beauty Gift Sets this year – and I’m sure you’ll agree that there’s some amazing gift inspiration here! Will you be picking any of these up for your friends or family, or even adding them to your own list for Santa?
Either way, happy shopping!
