Combining Metallic & Matte In One Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Matte-tallic Review

It’s been a little while since I last talked about Too Faced on the blog – which has been sad for me, because as you know they are one of my favourite beauty brands. They’ve been busy launching new ranges over in America but it seems to have been quiet here for a little while – so I was very excited to get a couple of new Too Faced deliveries recently as there had been a few ranges especially that I’ve loved.

The first to arrive was the new range of Melted Lipsticks. These are the Melted Matte-Talic which are a twist on both the original Melted versions and metallic finishes you can get to your lipsticks. With the same velvet matte finish that you love about the Melted lipsticks, these dry within seconds and don’t budge. They’re a great liquid lipstick to have in your collection because the colour payoff and pigmentation is high and they stick to the lips through eating and drinking too. I also love these because unlike other liquid lipsticks, they don’t clump in that line of your mouth after a short while. The application goes on smoothly and stays smooth throughout the duration.

The metallic version kicks in a lot more when it dries. When applying it looks like a satin finish and not metallic. But when it dries the metallic finish just pops, it’s almost like it develops once applied. It gives the matte an extra dimension that makes the lips look full and pretty and it’s perfect if you love liquid lipsticks but don’t always want a flat, matte finish.

The shades I’ve got are all on the pink end of the colour spectrum. I’ve got: You Better Work, Breakup Makeup and Sugar Kisses.

Too Faced Melted Matte-tallic Swatches

You Better Work – perfect for the deeper nude-loving gal. This has more brown to the tone than any other colours, maybe with a touch of rose gold in the metallic finish. It’s deep and mahogany so perfect for autumn.

Breakup Makeup – the candy pink for the pink loving girls. This is a rose toned colour with shimmer in the metallic on the champagne side of things. It’s pretty and elegant for the English rose kind of make up days.

Sugar Kisses – this is the baby pink in the collection. A cool toned pastel that dries with a warmth in the metallic to balance it out. Pretty on fair skin tones as well as dark

As someone who doesn’t go for matte finishes very often and always prefers to pick something with dimension, these Melted Matte-Talic Lipsticks are perfect for me. The coverage and staying power of a liquid formula and the strength of a matte with the finish of a metallic. What more could you want? There’s 13 shades in total to pick from here.

I absolutely love the sound of these! I love a metallic finish but sometimes it can be too much for the day but these look lovely with that slightly matte edge. X
