When it comes to make up stockists, there’s a lot out there. Let’s make no mistake in that. You can buy make up from corner shops these days, and while you’re at the supermarket too. There’s no shortage of places to pick up a new product or two. So in order for specialist and dedicated stockists to stand out, they have to really up their game. As a beauty blogger who is OBSESSED with make up, I’m forever finding and searching out new places to buy my favourite brands. I like to shop about, what can I say! And sometimes, just sometimes I stumble upon an absolute gem. The recent of which is Love Makeup.
If you’ve never heard of Love Makeup before then you’re not alone. I hadn’t either until I saw them exhibit at the IMATS this year. But you know what? Love Makeup need to be on your radar. There’s so many reasons why, but hear me when I say this: if you love makeup then you’ll want to know about these guys….
1.They have a website and an actual shop
Unlike a lot of the online stockists, Love Makeup also have an actual store front, which is actually quite rare these days. Their shop in Ware houses all the same products and you can drop in, have a look round and pick up your goodies in person if you want to. Giving your make up shopping a personal feel.
2. They’re official stockists for some of the biggest brands in the UK
You’ll be surprised what you can find at Love Makeup! I’m not talking a small stockist here, these guys have TONNES of the biggest brands in beauty. But what I like about their selection is that it’s all the cult and niche brands. I’m talking Beauty Blenders in every shape, colour and size you can think of. Brands like Viseart too who are not well stocked here in the UK, which is one of the many reasons I love them. Then there’s other brands too like Kevyn Aucoin, Dermacol, Makeup Eraser, Sigma (my gals Sigma!) and Zoeva. And this just a tiny selection. Love Makeup stock every brand you’ll want in your make up bag from the biggest and best brands as well as the niche make up products too.
3. They love Lime Crime too!
Girls, we all love Lime Crime right? Those funky products that have a twist on everyday essentials, well, who doesn’t love Lime Crime? Can you even call yourself a make up lover if you don’t?! Anyway, Love Makeup have a penchant for all things Lime Crime too, which means you’ll find all their products in one nice little spot – so you can pick them all up in one. As someone who hadn’t been able to try more than a couple of this year’s releases, I was very happy to find an independent stockist carrying the full range, including my much loved Venus III Eye Palette.
4. They have their finger on the make up pulse
As an independent makeup brand, these guys have been able to keep their finger on the make up pulse and stay true to their make up loving roots. This means that you’ll find them at places like the IMATS and tradeshows – always striving to stay ahead of the game.
5. They stock products for the make up novice and the make up pro’s
Because their stocked products are handpicked by their team based on what’s cult and what’s niche, you’ll find their curated selection to be the best of both. And by this, I mean that you’ll find everyday products for the everyday woman – the make up selections you’ll want to pick up for your handbag. But also a huge selection of products for the MUA’s and pro’s among us. There’s tools, lights and all kind of technical equipment that a professional would need as part of her day job so Love Makeup really do cater for every make up level.
6. They know what’s on trend
Seeing as all products are handpicked by the team, they know what’s hot. For example they have a really comprehensive collection of Sugarpill goodies which really surprised me. As more of a niche brand on the up, Sugarpill aren’t well stocked in the UK, but Love Makeup have a huge selection. Including the new Little Pill Stars Range. The palette is a cute and fun range of colours to match the theme and every bit as girlie as it looks. Plus they have the High Tea Collection of Liquid Lipsticks which are every nude/rose tone lip lovers dream. These are a staple for me now.
7. They’re universal with products for vegans etc
When it comes to catering for every make up ability, they also cater for every make up preference. They have a wide selection of products to suit everyone including those who are vegan, making sure they have a good range of brushes and colour cosmetics. I particularly like the vegan friendly KIT Stars brushes as they blend nicely and have a really soft texture. Love Makeup stock the whole collection.
8. Not just make up, but skincare too.
Don’t be deceived by the name, you’ll find a good skincare collection at Love Makeup too, so you can use it as your one-stop-shop for all things beauty. They stock a huge selection of The Ordinary products, as well as skincare from brands like Emma Hardie and Niod.
9. They ship Internationally
Love Makeup ship internationally (minus a few exclusions) so you’ll be able to shop from wherever in the world you may be. Plus their shipping costs and times are also very reasonable.
10. They’re personal
When I started talking with Love Makeup, Sue the owner was so lovely and friendly. I think with independent businesses it’s so much easier to pick up on that personal feel, as it comes across in everything they do. Everything from their customer service to product selection is done by an actual person, and not a robot, so you know you’re in safe hands with Love Makeup.
So if you didn’t think you needed a new place to shop for make up and skincare, you were wrong. Love Makeup are a brand that deserve your order and strive to provide a great place to shop for all of us beauty lovers. I highly recommend checking them out next time you need a beauty top-up.
