2 Minute Beauty Time – Tropic Skincare Sun Care Discovery Kit

It’s time for a new 2 Minute Beauty Time post! I know you guys like quick and punchy reviews on key seasonal products, so today I’m focusing on the Tropic Skincare Sun Care Discovery Kit. Seeing as we’re in the middle of the summer holidays and we’ve had the most intense heatwave ever, I think we’ve all become friends with our daily sun care products, haven’t we?

I went to Crete last week on my holiday and lounging by the pool was where I spent pretty much all my time. That said, as someone with very fair skin that burns easily, I have to be careful in the sun and I made sure I was covered in sun protection constantly. Having made the mistake of not wearing high enough coverage protection in the past, I wanted to avoid that mistake this time.

I’ve been practically buying shares in sun cream this summer. Having a baby means buying the maximum coverage possible, as well as high factors for my 8 year old and myself. Then the more middle-level coverage for my partner. So all-in-all we’ve needed a lot of sun creams this summer.  Tropic Skincare kindly sent over their Sun Care Discover Kit a little while ago and we started using it pretty much right away. The set contains four different products to help protect from sun damage. Inside you’ll find:

* Skin Shade SPF 50

*Skin Shade SPF 30

*Sun Soothe

*Sun Balm

The Skin Shades are your traditional sun care products, but being that Tropic Products are all plant derived these give the extra confidence that they’re going to be natural and better for the skin. I’d never used a mineral sun care product before but this was lovely and light and felt very lightweight on the skin. The key features of the Tropic Skin Shade products are:

*Comes in three coverage levels: SPF 50, 30 and 15

*Each RRP for £28

*Mineral based sun care

*Water resistant

*Rich in fatty acids to keep skin soft and hydrated

*Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming, towel drying etc

The Sun Care Discovery Kit also contains the Tropic Skincare Sun Balm, which again, was a new product to me. I’d never used a balm version of sun cream before but I’m so glad it arrived in time for my holiday. It’s SPF 50 and designed for use on the face – which was perfect for me as I burnt my forehead on the first day of my holiday, so made sure I applied this liberally all over my face afterwards and it kept the rest of the skin from burning. The added Vitamin E also meant that it felt really nourishing and gentle to the face and wasn’t at all oily or greasy.

The Tropic Skincare Sun Care Discovery Kit is great because:

*Great value for money. The four-piece set is £50 whereas individual Skin Shades retail for £28 each.

*You’ll get all your coverage levels in one kit – SPF 50 and 30.

*You get targeted sun care protection with the Sun Balm as it’s designed for facial use.

*It also contains Sun Soothe, the Tropic version of after sun to give a cooling effect after time in the sun and this was really lovely to wear in bed in the evenings for a cooling sensation.

*Comes in a matching drawstring bag to keep it all together.

I’ve been exploring using SPF regularly on my face this summer and honestly it’s made such a different to how healthy my skin actually looks.

Sounds like a great product, I am always looking for a good sunscreen as I’ve found that some on the market don’t provide me with the protection I need. I may need to look into this 1 x
