Charlote Tilbury will forever be one of the brands with the highest of reputations. With such a strong brand based on timeless beauty, it’s been created to elude to all things glamourous – but only in the very most classy way. It’s top level. It’s excellence embodied and it’s just pure luxury. Within the luxury comes a make up line that’s forever extending with amazing goodies and a skincare collection that’s already established some cult status products. (Magic Cream, I’m looking at you.) And while not everyone can afford a big splurge on multiple purchases, the Charlotte Tilbury reputation means even if you can’t buy it regularly, you still aspire to. And you’ll likely treat yourself once in a while, walking away from the counter with excitement and deep satisfaction. (Not just me, right?!)
With all of their latest launches, I’ve been drooling away and creating quite the wish-list. With a summer holiday coming up, there’s some things I actually need to take with me, so it was the perfect opportunity to look at which products are the Charlotte Tilbury Summer Essentials.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
Naturally, a Tilbury Essentials post wouldn’t even count if it didn’t feature the best-selling moisturiser. I’ve reviewed this in full before and talked about it in detail but it really is the perfect summer moisturiser. It’s packed full of rosehip and vitamin E so it’s always going to deliver a heavy hit of moisture – so it’s great for the hot weather. Plus is has wonder ingredient Hyaluronic Acid to create a smoother and brighter skin surface. The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream is a wonder cream for a reason – AND it’s great as a make up primer too. I’ve enjoyed this cream a lot more since becoming a Mum second-time round, seeing as we’re back in the land of less sleep, this cream really does brighten and just make my skin look a little bit more awake than I actually feel – thank goodness!
Filmstar Bronze & Glow
If ever there was a palette for sculpting the face in the perfect way for summer, it’s this one. A duo palette containing a gorgeous cool toned bronze and a matching warm ivory highlight that’s a delicate looking shade but packs a LOT of highlighting punch. The bronze allows you to sculpt the shadows around your face to really shape it – the hollow of the cheeks, top of the head etc. Combined with the warm ivory tone of the highlight which applies over the cheekbones, brow arch etc, you get the perfectly contoured and shaped face. The tone I have is light-medium and the Filmstar Bronze & Glow is one product that sums up Charlotte Tilbury products perfectly – absolutely the best quality. Gentle to apply, but works perfectly – not a muddy looking contour in sight!
When this launched I was seeing it everywhere and I got major make-up vibes. I needed it. Having now tried it, I can see why the Wonderglow face primer got such amazing reviews. It’s like dewy skin in a bottle and PERFECT for getting that summer glow. Applied underneath your foundation you’ll get just the right bronze and glowy base to create a sunkissed look. I think if you’re going on holiday then this on it’s own would be perfect for lazing by the pool – you wouldn’t even need a coverage product on top. The tiny shimmer/highlight creates a glow to the skin and when you do apply your foundation over the top it just allows the key areas to glow through in such a subtle way. This product is everything I like about Charlotte Tilbury products – subtle but creates the most elegant looks.
Full Fat Lashes
Having used the Legendary Lashes Mascara earlier this year, I was intrigued to see how the Full Fat Lashes would measure up. And I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a great everyday mascara for the summer because it’s got a buildable level of coverage. A couple of slicks and you’re good for natural looking eyes, or build it up to full looking lashes. Plus there’s zero clumping in sight, so it’s fab for the holidays.
The Feline Flick
Every girl needs a good liquid liner for the summer and I am the biggest fan of felt liners because they make lining your eyes SO much easier than cream liners and a brush. The Feline Flick is pure black and a really rich texture and the applicator means you have complete control over where the product is going. Meaning you can get exactly the flick that you like. It’s also got serious staying power and doesn’t bleed into the fine lines around the eye so it’s a great one for all ages.
Bitch Perfect K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick
One of the cult lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury, Bitch Perfect is also one of my favourite shades. I’ve always got one on the go and one as a back-up because it’s a tone I hate being without in my collection. It’s a gorgeous pink tone with a kick of peach, so it helps to create that ‘English Rose’ type of lip. It’s a rich pigmentation and one application gives deep payoff, and it lasts up really well even through eating and drinking. As a creamy formula it gives the lips dimension when worn too. I think this pretty shade would be universal to all skin tones, and it has to be one of my summer must-haves.
Matte Revolution Glastonberry Lipstick
I like to take one dark shade of lipstick on holiday with me. As a pale person I can’t always pull them off normally, but on holiday with a tan, dark plum tones look amazing and I make the most of every opportunity to wear them! Glastonberry is a purple/plum tone with a pinch of red – it’s the epitome of a plum lip. As with the Matte Revolution Lipsticks they still apply with a creamy texture but sit on the lips with a matte finish. I find liquid lipsticks can sometimes be too harsh which is why I’m a fan of the Matte Revolution lipsticks because they still feel creamy but look matte.
Coachella Coral K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick
You need a coral tone lipstick in your summer make up bag girls – trust me on that. And all skin tones can pull off a good coral. I love Coachella Coral because it’s got a blend of coral and pink, so it’s not so vibrant that those who don’t wear bold lips would be too scared to try it. On the lips when worn it’s got a pop of colour in a subtle way. I find it’s such a pretty shade that really compliments my skin tone and I love to wear it. Plus it’s super creamy and applies like a dream!
So those are the products that I recommend for everyone in their Charlotte Tilbury summer collection. These products are mostly universal so should suit all manner of skin types and tones. These are the basics and the starting point of your summer collection.
