Brand Focus: Laura Geller

Laura Geller.

One American brand I rate highly and think are way under rated. I’m forever recommending their highlighters, loving their lippies and at Christmas I love their Holiday Sets. I think more people should try their products, because once they do, they’ll be hooked – just like I was. I love when brands produce amazing products in quick succession, just as Laura Geller have recently, because it means I can do a thorough Brand Focus piece. Which are some of my favourites to write!

So let’s take a peak at some of the new goodies I’ve been enjoying recently!

Dewdreamer Illuminating Drops

Who doesn’t love adding highlight and shimmer to their everyday make up at this time of year especially? And as Laura Geller are the bosses of highlighters (Check out the Gelato Swirls folks!) it seems natural that they’ve introduced new liquid versions – their Dewdreamer Illuminating Drops. There’s four shades available and I’ve got Opal Crush which is the shade I’d recommend for those with pale skin tones, like me. It’s a white base with iridescent shimmer, so it’s like icy snow and beautiful to look at.

The first thing I noticed about these highlighting drops as opposed to others I’ve got, is just how liquid the product is. It’s like actual water, which really was unusual. It’s like shimmery mermaid water! I love it because it works so well with a beauty blender at applying highlight to the cheekbones in a subtle way – which us pale girls will appreciate. It’s not over the top, but delicate and natural when applied that way. Or you could layer it up for a more highly pigmented and more noticeable highlight.

I also find these work incredibly well when mixed into foundation directly or moisturiser and applied all over the body. It gives a subtle glow all over that is perfect for summer and beach season. Because of the very watery texture I find that the Dewdreamer Drops give far more control over the level of shimmer and highlight that you want, which is perfect for those of us who want to be able to pick how intense the glow is.

Unique texture and gorgeous colour means I’m loving these drops for the warmer seasons especially.

Colour Luster Lip Gloss Hi-Def Top Coat

Since brands started releasing Top Coats and Lip Toppers, my glossy-lip-finish heart has loved it. I like a matte lip now and again, but glossy and cream finishes will always have my heart. The more shimmer and sparkle the better for me! So when I saw the Colour Luster Lip Gloss Hi-Def Top Coats, I knew I’d love them in every shade. And I do.

I like these because they have the glossy and shiny finish of an actual gloss, with lots of shimmer for extra dimension. However they’re not sticky like a gloss, so it’s thefts of both worlds. Coverage wise, these will give a full covered of dimension to your finish, however the colour level is light to medium when used alone. So it’s nice for natural make up days when used alone.

However when used on top of your favourite lipstick, as intended, these create an insane coverage. You favourite colour with an extra colour of shimmer – it looks glamorous and pretty and I can’t get enough of it!

Nude Kisses Lip Hugging Lip Gloss

Oh Lord of the lipsticks, you have made all my lipstick loving dreams come true with this range. I can’t tell you how much I love every single thing about this collection. As said, I’m all about the glossy finishes so these hit the spot for me. Not only are they a high gloss finish, but they’re also non-sticky as well – which makes them the perfect kinda gloss. They also come in a huge range of nude tones and pinks, which are always going to be my favourite lips shades because they go with everything and work well for my skin tone.

Some of the colours have a shimmer within them too, to create extra dimension, whereas some are a colour without shimmer. Between the two you get the perfect collection of nude lips. Gloss lovers, you’re going to adore these!

Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick

When it comes to pretty looking lipsticks, the Laura Geller Iconic Baked Sculpting range win first place for the way they catch your eye. The pattern embossed on the lipstick itself is something I’ve not seen before and something I love looking at. The great thing after the shape, is the magnetic lid, which I also find useful and helpful. It’s always nice when a lid is magnetic, but weirdly not all that common. So I appreciate it on these.

When it comes to colours and finishes, these Laura Geller lipsticks are fantastic for colour payoff. They literally need a quick layer and you’ll have everything you need for vibrant and deep colours. You need very little of the product to get the maximum payoff, which means your lipstick will last well. There’s a huge amount of colours across all spectrum from nude to dark shades, and there’s also some really wonderful matte finishes as well as some very impressive performing metallics. The metallics give a great dimension that very few lipsticks can offer without liquid formula. So it’s another great win.

As far as brands go, Laura Geller are hitting every mark right now and I couldn’t be more impressed with the new products I’ve tried from them. When it comes to lip products especially, right now they’re coming out on top for me.
