First off, yes I’m late. No, not that kinda late (two kids is enough for me!) but late in delivering this (last) months Favourites and New In Beauty post. I’m a poor excuse for a blogger but I do have a valid reason – laryngitis and a throat infection. I’m still fighting it off, but fortunately my voice has returned – along with a bit more energy. Hurray! So, although it’s a week late, I hope you’ll still enjoy reading about the items I loved most last month, and what’s new in too. And hopefully, as ever, you’ll find some golden goodies to try this month.
I’m super excited about this months edit because there’s some pure GOLD here. A lot of the brands are so good they deserve full write ups themselves, but still to this day, some of my most viewed posts are my monthly favs! Alas, check out what’s new and what you’re gunna love…
scentaddict by The Fragrance Shop
If you read my blog regularly then you’ll know that I’m a perfume addict (and self confessed perfume snob!) I have a vast perfume collection, that’s ever growing and a wish-list as long as my right arm. One thing I’ve said time and time again is how sometimes we as consumers can get stuck in a rut when it comes to our everyday fragrances. It’s not always easy to grow your collection – with a decent bottle costing the best part of fifty quid (at least.) So how perfect is it that you can now try out a new fragrance each month – without the hefty price tag?! Cool, eh? Basically as a monthly subscription you get a month’s supply of a new fragrance to try out – so you can spend the month dating it, before you commit to marrying it! There’s over 250 fragrances from over 50 different brands to pick from, and each month you pick your new scent of choice – which is then delivered to your door. Easy peasy. For only £12 a month you can extend your fragrance collection and find out what you love most before using your special monthly discount to purchase the full size (the same £12 for your subscription comes off the full size bottle if you decide to purchase it!) Plus a mini size is great for your handbag, travelling etc. I’m not going to deny that at first I didn’t realise how much I’d love this – but I do. I’ve tried a great Tom Ford fragrance, which I usually couldn’t afford to buy on a whim. As it takes me some time to decide if I like something or not, this has saved me making an expensive impulse buy and shown me that I do adore the scent enough to treat myself. I’m excited to try even more fragrances through the service. Sign up and start here.
Cocunat Rosewater Face Toner
A fab new all-natural brand that I tried in April was Cocunat. A brand for everyone because their products are natural, organic and vegan friendly. I have to admit that I’d completely run out of toner so this arrived in the nick of time. A great everyday toner, the Cocunat Rosewater Face Toner kept my pores closed enough to help minimise oil – so my skin looked less shiny through the day. It’s 100% toxic free ( as are all the Cocunat products, so it’s gentle to use without being harsh or heavy on the skin. A good toner is an essential beauty step and you want one that keeps things healthy and moisturised while keeping oil levels at bay. This one does that very well and it’s only £15.95
I’m also loving their Soap Free Body Gel – it’s like a shower gel, but soap free, so it’s perfect for even the most sensitive skin. I’ve even used some of this in my baby boy’s bath and it’s been really gentle on his skin. Again, it’s toxic free so a good one for natural beauty lovers.
L’Oreal Tinted Lip Oil
This lovely hot weather means I’ve been enjoying the L’Oreal Tinted Lip Oils a lot in the past weeks. They give the cutest little hint of colour (I’ve got 01 Jelly Peach) and the colour isn’t overbearing but just enough to brighten the lips. The forumla and nourishing oil means lips feel soft and look plump and healthy with a flush of colour and a gentle glossy and slick finish. Plus they’re scented too, so they smell and taste yummy for summer! A great handbag essential that won’t break the bank. There’s four to pick from.
L’Oreal Lip Plumper
Another lip product from L’Oreal that I’ve been loving this past month is their new Plumping Lip Primer. I’m always cautious of lip plumpers, the sensation just isn’t one of my favourites but this one isn’t too much and delivers a nice little plump in the lips. It’s a great one for underneath glosses and stains, and it looks great before a good matte lipstick too. It’s a matte finish but dries down to be unseen once your chosen lip product is applied over the top. A great budget version of a product that can usually be quite pricey. Get yours here.
Natural Spa Factory Acerola Cherry Peel Off Face Mask
New in this month from my friends at Natural Spa Factory is their Acerola Cherry Peel Off Face Mask. As a face mask lover, this one was on my radar for all the right reasons. I didn’t know this but Acerola Cherry has a hugely high vitamin C content, which is great for boosting radiance and giving the skin a hit of vitamins. It can boost the complexion as well as helping to brighten. Peel off after use and you’ll feel the difference. You can get these in a pack of three from the Natural Spa Factory website.
HD Brows Liquid Fluid Foundation
I had heard great things about this foundation from one of my friends. She has sworn by this as one of the most high coverage foundations that she’s ever tried. I have been desperate to try it for a while, but the colour options are quite limited and I wasn’t sure which shade I’d need. I finally changed this and tried shade 002 Ivory. First off, the colour is the second lightest in the range, but it’s still too dark (I’m gutted, wish I’d got 001 Porcelain now!) But with a bit of white foundation I was able to lighten it enough to try out. And when I did, I was impressed. SERIOUSLY. The coverage on this is top notch, second to none. It’s like a concealer in foundation form and you really don’t need much product to give the fullest coverage. It’s so thick, it takes a while to get the blending technique right, but once you do, it’s an amazing full coverage foundation that I highly recommend – I’m desperate to get the lighter shade now. Get it from the High Definition website.
So there you have it! April’s new in section and monthly favourites! I hope you’ve found some new beauty products to inspire your shopping through the next month! See you same time, next month
