A while back I wrote about the L’Oreal Infallible range when it first landed on my doorstep. I was pretty impressed with the longevity the foundation provided, and could see why everyone raved about it. The Infallible collection in itself has since become like it’s own brand-within-a-brand, because eit’s so well recognised now. So when the new collection from the range dropped, I was excited to say the least. not just because I knew it could only get better, but because they had some seriously attractive looking pieces and some much needed additions to the Infallible range.
There’s several primers in the new launch, which means there’s going to be a primer for your skin type – or, like me, you can use multiple ones for each section of your face. I like these primers because they work well, but also because they’re so hydrating and not at all drying. I’ve tried these three…
L’Oreal Infaillible Pore Refining Primer – the pink one
This one is a baby of all sorts. The all rounder, I like to think. It’s great for those, who like me, have pores the size of pot holes. If you struggle with oily skin, you’ll like this one for sure. It reduces the way the pores look, so they look smaller underneath your make up and give a more even coverage. The primer also blurs imperfections in the same way, so your skin will look primed and perfect ready for your foundation. The Infallible Pore Refining Primer is a thin, pale pink liquid that applies well and sits nicely on the skin. (At the time of writing this it’s on offer for £6.25)
L’Oreal Infaillible Anti Redness Primer – the green one
Another fab addition, the Anti Redness Primer is another one I really like using. I don’t have many red patches on my face, but my skin tone is very uneven, so the green pigments in this primer help to neutralise this. If you have skin redness or redness from blemishes etc, this one will work wonders for you. As with the previous it’s deeply hydrating and applies really nicely. The Infallible Anti Redness Primer is also on offer currently for £6.25.
L’Oreal Infaillible Mattifying Primer – the black one
Does exactly what it says on the tin – it absorbs oil on the skin surface and creates a matte finish to the face. This works well to create a great matte foundation base. If you have oily skin then mix this with the pink one and you’ll have a great level of primer coverage to blur pores and block oils. Perfect, and also on offer for £6.25 here.
The Foundation Sticks
L’Oreal Infaillible Shaping Stick Foundation
I liked the original Infallible foundations, but I love these sticks. Stick foundations are something I have only recently tried out again – previously using them years ago and not being best impressed. I have found their coverage to be too slippery – sliding right off my face before. However I found the right knack with these and it’s all in the application. For me I love to apply foundation with a brush, but these apply best with a dry sponge. (Do not use fingers, the wet texture with the oil on your fingertips won’t give you good coverage.) When you apply the sticks across the skin, blend out with a dry sponge and you’ll find the coverage evens out the best with this method. The coverage is medium to full but you can build it up to be as full as you wish depending on preference. They really give you all the control.
They are quite creamy in texture, so prepare for that and don’t over apply – I can sometimes go trigger happy with stick foundations, but a little goes a long way. And the quicker you grasp that, the better you’ll find it works for you. There’s 12 shades in the range to pick from and I’ve watched my seven shades for you to see…
Pick these up in the offer for only £6.25 instead of the usual £8.99 from Feel Unique.

The Cheek Products
L’Oreal Infallible Stick Sculpting Highlighter
What face range would be complete without gorgeous highlighters? There’s four stick highlighters in the new Infaillible range and I love 500 Frozen and 502 Gold is Cold. They’re the golden toned and silver toned highlighters, with some pinky versions also available. I find these great for a quick slick of highlight across the cheekbones. They are as creamy in texture as the foundation sticks, so blend well and the colour payoff is nice and gentle – perfect if you like to build your level of highlight. Also currently on offer for only £6.25 each.
L’Oreal Infallible Stick Sculpting Blush
And finally, the collection has introduced two new stick blushes. I’ve got 002 Rosy Nude which is a pink/rose toned blush, and the other in the collection has more red in pigmentation to it. It’s creamy, easy to apply and a nice matte finish which is great for the apples of the cheeks. I like really matte blush, and the creamy texture of this works best with a setting powder over the top if that’s the style you like too. But if you like a glow finish then this blush alone will fit your style perfectly. Also currently only £6.25.
Overall I am superbly impressed with the new Infallible Collection. It’s surpassed every expectation I had and I like the stick variation of the products because they’re handbag friendly and great budget make-up products for every day. You can’t beat drugstore brands for producing the best handbag essentials and I think these will really help to fill that day-to-day void when you need a quick touch up at work, or when you’re out and about.
