Four Reasons You Need The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette
When it comes to my seriously loved brands, Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of them. My collection has grown massively recently and that’s all thanks to Cult Beauty who are stocking a massive amount of their goodies now – and I’m a sucker for a Cult Beauty haul! Most recently we all went gooey-eyed over the seriously gorgeous looking Soft Glam palette. The second I saw it, there was no doubt in my mind that I’d be adding it to my collection, and it hasn’t disappointed at all.
Far from being just another eyeshadow palette, Soft Glam is a staple palette for every skin tone. The shades, the possible looks…it’s a palette that gives a lot more than you will get from most others. But rather than a straight forward review, cus you’ve probably read tonnes of those if you’re thinking about getting it, I wanted to give you four reasons you NEED this palette in your collection. And coming from someone who has been using it constantly, you can trust me when I say that you do need this.
The ‘Original’ Formula
ABH fans went wild for Modern Renaissance, it’s a cult palette that can do no wrong. But sadly another more recent palette (the Subculture) caused a lot of tears from make up junkies because the much loved formula was switched, and it wasn’t as good. Still well wearing shadows, but a lot of kick back etc and make up guru’s flooded YouTube to say the same thing. It didn’t stop me buying it myself, and I love it but I do notice a big difference in the formula. Fortunately ABH announced that Soft Glam would be returning to the original and much loved formula – which has always been one of the very best things about their eyeshadows. So the shadows in the Soft Glam palette are creamy, buttery and gorgeous to apply. Rich in pigment as a result. There’s virtually no kick back from the metallics and only a tiny amount that is even less than you’d expect from the mattes. The payoff you get as a result of the formula is the same as Modern Renaissance and one of the very best I’ve ever, ever used.
Seven New Shades
Excitingly, there’s seven new tones in this palette, with the rest being the staples and much loved shades you’ll want to rely on for crease and transition tones etc. If seven brand spanking new colours wasn’t enough to tempt you, then I don’t know what will be!
Softer And More Gentle Range
When it comes to palettes, there’s always a theme with the colours. I love that Subculture had some pops of colour that you wouldn’t usually think of. But Soft Glam is a must-need because of it’s colour range. The soft hues on the champagne and warm peach and brown tones makes it one of ABH’s most versatile palettes yet. You can rely it on for your nearly-nude eye looks as well as bold and glamorous smokey eyes. Whichever way you like your champagne and subtle sparkle, this palette will cater for your day looks as well as night time and date night too.
Another great outcome of the formula is how well the eyeshadows last. I always apply shadows with a base coat of concealer to prime. I find the colours perform that bit better with concealer to grip to. Plus it helps to give a much more defined transition and crease line. The shadows in the Soft Glam palette last the full day without seeping into lines or losing their intensity. Which is something only big brands of eyeshadow do. It’s their quality that makes them outlast so many others. I don’t need to touch up my eyes at all during the day with these, and can trust that they’re still looking as perfect as when I first applied.
Soft Glam has been an excellent addition to my collection. Not just my ABH collection, but my whole eyeshadow collection. While a nude/champagne toned palette isn’t a new concept, ABH have taken it and made something that shatters all the others before it. If you’re looking for an everyday, versatile palette with the nude and champagne tones, this is the one you’ll want more than any others. Even if you already have one with similar tones in your collection, get this because once you’ve used it, you’ll never look back.
