A New Addition To My Salvatore Ferragamo Perfume Collection

One of last year’s perfume discoveries for me was the collection of stunning fragrances from Salvatore Ferragamo. Within months I’d collected pretty much the whole range because they just nailed that sultry musk that I adore in my perfumes. So imagine my pure joy when I heard they were releasing a brand new fragrance…

Drumroll please….Salvatore Ferragamo have launched Amo, their brand new eau de parfum.

And I like this one, I like it a lot.

It’s got a fresh and girly element to it, almost fun-flirty, whereas I feel the others have the seductive and sultry element nailed. So it’s a fabulous addition to a lovely collection of scents. And probably what I’d class as the younger sister of the others in the range.

Translated in Italian, ‘Amo’ means ‘I love’ and I do love this perfume. As mentioned, it’s got a fresh element to the scent that I haven’t found in Salvatore Ferragamo perfumes before. I think this comes from the oriental elements, and creates a fresh breeze kind of feeling.

With heart notes of of Jasmine and rhubarb, it still retains some of that seductive edge in it’s musk, especially with the base notes of telltale sandalwood and vanilla too. So it’s got what I feel is the trademark of the Ferragamo fragrances – the seductive musk levels to make things sultry. But it’s also got the girlie and slightly younger element through the fruity blackcurrant top note. It’s like two worlds colliding – new, young, fresh and flirty with traditional sultry and seductive. It’s going to capture hearts and I can see why it’s called Amo now too.

Most musky scents tend to last longer I find, they cling to the skin a lot better than light hearted fragrances, so I was intrigued to see if this stuck around as long as it’s family members. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it really adapted quickly to me, meaning it’s suited well. And I could still smell it hours later. You’ll definitely need a spritz pick-me-up by lunch time but you get a good few hours of strong scent levels before needed a top-up. Which shows it’s a good quality perfume as well as great smelling.

Salvatore Ferragamo Amo is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles exclusively from The Fragrance Shop.
