Valentine’s Day Treats – For Yourself

I spent many a Valentine’s Day as a single lady, and quite a few as a single mama. So I’m always quite cautious at this time of year about Gift Guides and things. I’ve been the single girl who struggles with being on her own on Feb 14th, so I know how it feels. I am so lucky to have found the right man, and he was worth every painful and lonely Valentine’s Day on my own – waiting for him was something I’d do again and again if he’s the end-prize. (Pass the sick bucket, I know!) But that said, he’s not really in to Valentine’s Day. And with quite a lot going on, a Wedding to save for etc – we have decided that we won’t really be celebrating. Maybe a card and a nice dinner at home, but no more than that. But he did say I could treat myself to a little something instead – told you he was a keeper! So that got me thinking to an alternative kinda Valentine’s Day Guide. The sort that ALL women can enjoy, regardless of their relationship status! So here’s my Valentine’s Day Gift Guide: full of Valentine’s Day Treats – for yourself…because you deserve it.

L’Occitane Limited Edition Rifle Paper Design Shea Butter Hand Cream (£21)

I don’t know about anyone else but at this time of year my hands are suffering. They’re dry and cracked and my knuckles feel horrible – made worse for me because I have a baby so I’m forever washing my hands, making bottles etc. Thus also meaning the dryness is sometimes quite painful. But even if you don’t have a gazillion bottles a day to prepare, this time of year can cause havoc for our hands. So send yourself some love with the best selling L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream – with a limited edition and seriously pretty design from Rifle Paper. The cream itself is a classic – I’ve got it in multiple sizes and ensure I’ve always got one in my handbag. A quick use of this and my hands quickly feel softer and nourished, and those dry bits feel a lot better. It’s an absolute winter essential – and the perfect way to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day. (And while you’re there pick up the One Minute Hand Scrub too because this has massively helped the softness of my hands!)

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo (£26)

Girls, ya’ll deserve this. Y’all need this. GET THIS. If Valentine’s Day wasn’t THE perfect opportunity to treat yo’self to some Fenty, then I don’t know what would be. I am head-over-heels for this highlight duo. I saw the Killawatt Highlight when the range was released and drooled over it from afar, now I’ve got it, I drool over it for real. A stunning compact featuring two shades of highlight, I’ve got the shade selection Lightning Dust and Fire Crystal. Both are peach and pale pink toned colours, so they sit well on my pale skin. But there’s quite a few colours you can pick from, so all skin tones can enjoy the Fenty glow. I like these duo palettes because they have one more subtle glow shade, and one more intense – so you can have whichever fix of highlight you prefer for everyday. If you’ve been on the fence about what products to start with from Fenty, this is your starting point. Happy Galentine’s Day to you!

Aromatherpay Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil (£49)

I think we can all universally agree that a bath is one of the best ways to relax and de-stress. I blogged about 5 Ways To Relax recently and having a nice, hot bath was one. Nothing relaxes me more in the evening, after a log day, than a hot bath. The Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil is an absolute must have for achey and tired muscles. It smells absolutely indulgent – it’s rich and aromatic with chamomile and sandalwood, so the scent literally envelopes you. Not only does it help you relax in the bath, but you can also use it in the shower too for another way to de-stress. My body feels so relaxed every time I use this, and it makes the house smell lovely too. This is a great pamper treat. The De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil is another great one for relaxing too.

Estee Lauder Victoria Beckham Eye Kajal and Lip Gloss (£Various)

When Victoria Beckham and Estee Lauder announced their first make-up collaboration, I was super excited. The new bits have been amazing and I wish I’d got more from the range. If you’re looking for the treatiest-treat of all for yourself this Valentine’s Day, then I highly recommend something from this exclusive range. The Lip Gloss is absolutely stunning and so versatile – it’s nude, soft and creamy. Non sticky and looks absolutely bang-on-point for an everyday nude tone. Combined with the Eye Kajal Pencil, you’ve got some seriously amazing make-up staples. And dare I say it – some pieces of make-up history! The Eye Kajal has a dual end – one black and one flesh toned, for lining and highlighting the eyes. Both this and the lip gloss are in sleek and simple packaging that screams of the range. It’s an absolute must-splurge for a treat.

Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour £22.45, World Duty Free)

If you’re travelling anywhere anytime soon, then utilise this as your treat-me time and pick up some of the goodies from World Duty Free. The first absolutely perfect Valentine’s Treat for yourself would have to be a Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour Palette. I have shade 04 – which is Sunset Coral and the prettiest peach and coral toned pink – with just the perfect little drop of shimmer. The thing I love about this palette is that the colours are so subtle that they really accentuate your natural features and just make your cheeks especially look more glowy. It’s perfect for everyday and because it’s Clarins, you know it won’t clog your pores. As always, the wonderful people at World Duty Free know you might not always have time to shop on route though, so reserve this ahead of your trip – and collect on your way through! Simples.

Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet and Lip Maestro (£23.95-£24.15, World Duty Free)

Now, if there’s one thing every girl needs for herself on Valentine’s Day – it’s a pink lip and red lip. The Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet‘s are swoon-worthy matte liquid lipsticks that simply do not budge. And shade 506 Fusion is the perfect Valentine’s Day rosey pink. It’s pretty and girlie, with a hint of seduction – so it’s perfect for February 14th during the day…Then switch it up in the evening with your Lip Maestro in shade 400 The Red. This is the perfect red lip product for Valentine’s. It’s a lip stain with a velvet finish – quite unique and very soft to wear, it lasts for hours and won’t budge. The pigmentation in this is excellent – it’s one of the brightest but still wearable red tone’s I’ve found. And again, you can pick it up from World Duty Free on your travels – or reserve it and ask a friend to collect if they’re jetting off and you aren’t -win/win!
