Whereas January seemed to drag and never end, February seems to have flown by doesn’t it?! I can’t believe how quickly it’s passed because I feel like I still have so much to do before the month’s out! But one thing I am very excited about is that the end of a month means one thing – monthly favourites and new in time! This month has been great for new bits and pieces across all areas of beauty. I’ve tried some fantastic goodies and can’t wait to tell you about them all, so let’s get cracking!
Jessica La Vie En Rose Spring Collection (£11 each)
For as long as I can remember I’ve been a fan of Jessica nail polishes. Their Phenom collection have been some of my favourites over recent years but the colours in their Nail Polish collections never cease to impress me. We may be in the midst of a snow storm right now, but I’m firmly holding on to the belief that Spring isn’t that far away (please God.) So I am starting on Spring prep and the La Vie en Rose Collection is everything that embodies spring. Beautiful tones of pink and pastel shades, there’s violet tones and lots of blush to create stunning and very pretty nails this spring. For the quality of a brand like Jessica, I think £11 per polish is very well priced, and considering you only need two thin coats to get full colour payoff, a whole bottle will last for ages. With a high-shine finish that looks like gel, I recommend these for seriously pretty nails this spring.
Mandara Spa Amber Heaven (£3-£7)
Good old Mandara Spa, they never disappoint! But I really wish they got more recognition because their products are wonderful and some of the best quality for their affordable price. Their Amber Heaven collection was unboxed on my recent PO Unboxing Video and as you’ll know if you watched it, the scent blew me away. It’s rich and luxurius, intoxicating in a gorgeous way and it smells so expensive! The range is available from Sainsbury’s and costs between £3-£7 per product. You can get Shower Gel, Body Lotion/Cream, Bath Soaks and Pampering Bath Honey. It’s the Pampering Bath Honey that’s my favourite, a £7 glass tub, it’s rich and creamy and glides into your bath creating the most sensual aroma. I will 100% be repurchasing this!
Mii Cosmetics (Various)
One of my most loved brands for make-up is Mii Cosmetics. I try and rave about these guys as much as possible because I think they deserve so much recognition for their lovely make-up. Their latest additions are new in from their spring Nude Ambition collection and I can’t wait to get properly stuck in! I love a nude themed collection and this one is so versatile. First up we have the Double Delight Blush & Bronze which is the most beautiful powder palette to contour your face with – featuring a matte blush and a matte bronzer, I’ll apply mine with the their gorgeous Special Finish Brush because it’s so fluffy and blends like a dream! I like compacts like this because they’re so easy to pop in your bag and go, plus these shades are so versatile that contour-experts and newbies alike can enjoy it. There’s also the new Illusionist Translucent Powder which I have been loving! It does pretty much everything you could want – reduces shine, buffs make-up to look matte and keeps oil levels at bay. It’s like a super powder and a make-up staple!
Feather & Down Goodies (Under £10)
As someone with Insomnia, I am FOREVER looking for products to help me sleep better at night. I have seen a lot about Feather & Down recently so had been really looking forward to giving their products a trial. I am so pleased with the results, not just because they’re impressive sleep aids, but because they are far more affordable than almost all other brands with sleepy themed products! The Melting Shower Cream (£6) and Pillow Spray (£7) have to be my favourites of the range – the Melting Shower Cream really relaxes me before sleep time and is quite a sensual smell that prepares you for rest. I find it really relaxing to use and with the Pillow Spray afterwards I find that I can drift off a lot better and in a far more relaxed state. Not a lot helps me sleep through the night, but these definitely helped me fall asleep i a more restful way!
Sukin Face Masques (£7.99)
A friend of mine swears by Sukin and so I was really excited when two of their face masques dropped through my letterbox. I’m all about a good face mask and adore an almost nightly pamper session with one on. As someone with oily skin, the Sukin range is great because it works to combat the telltale signs of oily skin and large pores. My favourite face masque this month is without a doubt the Purifying Facial Masque – not just because it’s pink, and I love pink, but because my skin felt amazing after each use. Not only that but my skin wasn’t red or angry afterwards either, which is always nice as someone with increasingly sensitive skin! Plus it genuinely smells like Battenburg Cake!! Also loved their Anti-Pollution Oil Balancing Masque this month too.
Ghost Sweetheart Forever Gift Set (£30)
This was a belated Valentine’s Day gift from Ghost and I’ve been loving it! I already reviewed this fragrance last year and it’s one of my everyday handbag favourites – I always keep it in my bag! Ghost fragrances are timeless and elegant and can be loved by everyone. For me they take me back to my teens, while bringing a new edge of sophistication. I love how sweet and delicate the scent is, and the gorgeous rose gold necklace set it comes with was just so pretty that I loved everything about this Gift Set. Plus it’s only £30 which is so affordable for a fragrance set!
You Have My Heart on A String Spongelle (£12.95)
I love Spongelle, they’re both practical and nifty and I tell all my friends about them. They’re cute and versatile and great for taking away with you as it saves you taking bulky shower gels etc. This month Spongelle released their boxed ‘You Have My Heart on A String‘ version which was a lovely addition to my collection! Each Spongelle is a sponge that’s infused with a gorgeous scent, to lather up with when washing. The buffer works to clean and scent in one. You get a good amount of washes from each and this one smelt divine, really lovely and girly. Very floral and made me imagine spring wasn’t too far away!
So it’s been a great month for newness over here! Which of these goodies are taking your fancy for a trial in March?
