December Favourites

So it’s no secret that December has been crazy with amazing beauty products. I really had to go full pelt with the blog during the past month to be able to fit everything in! It was a busy old month but I couldn’t have loved it any more – I absolutely adore beauty blogging, so I was in my element! Within the past month I’ve been trying so many wonderful new products that I was literally spoiled for choice with deciding which goodies would make my December Favourites. But I’ve managed to get the best of the best together for you. So, here’s what I’ve been loving in December….

Ameliorate Body Goodies (£ various)

I’ve loved trying out some new body beauty goodies this month, most notably some amazing pieces from Ameliorate. I have been trying out quite a few of their smooth skin products, but there’s three which I have absolutely loved. The first is the Exfoliating Body Mitt. Unlike any other Exfoliating Mitt or glove I’ve used before, this one isn’t remotely scratchy – so it doesn’t hurt when you use it! HURRAY! It’s got a weave type fabric that buffs away dead skin to exfoliate well, but without the scratchiness. It’s actually a really pleasant way to remove the top layer of dirt and build up and because it doesn’t hurt, it’s meant I’ve exfoliated more than ever. (It’s under a tenner, so well worth snapping up.)

The second product in my favourites from Ameliorate is the Transforming Body Lotion, which is basically like a prescription for getting smooth skin. You have to use it twice weekly for a month, and then daily thereafter and basically it uses Alpha Hydroxy Acid to encourage the skin’s natural ability to exfoliate itself, creating more clean and healthy skin cells. It’s also really hydrating and I’m now a month in using this and my skin feels really lovely. And finally the Ameliorate Intense Hand Treatment has been an absolute life saver for me this month. I get dry hands and lips in the winter really badly, and my hands have suffered this Christmas more than ever before because now I have a new baby, I’m constantly washing bottles etc – meaning very dry hands. This is an unperfumed hand treatment, so it’s an intensive way of rescuing the skin on my hands. I’ve been using it twice daily (once first thing and once before bed) and my skin hasn’t ever felt so good in winter.

Philosophy Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath (Was £19, NOW ONLY £10.50!)

I was kindly sent these a few weeks before Christmas so they made it just in time to be considered for my monthly favourites. And seriously, I’ve used these every single day since they arrived! I am a huge fan of Philosophy products anyway – I find they’re so indulgent and smell gorgeous. So trying out the winter collection of their multi-tasking shower gels was bliss. I’ve been using Shimmering Snowlace which has a lovely shimmery finish and smells like mint and vanilla, as well as Candy Cane which is totally sweet and minty and great for morning showers as it really wakes you up! There’s also Snow Angel too, which I’m saving for when the first two run out. These usually retail for £19 each but now they’re on sale for £10.50 for a massive 480ml so grab them here while you can!

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa Eau de Parfum (Escentual, £44)

One of my favourite perfume discoveries of the last few years has been Signorina Misteriosa by Savaltore Ferragamo. It’s the most stunning and sultry perfume and it’s got such a depth to the musk level that it ticks every box for me as a perfume lover. I ended up getting one bottle at the beginning of the month and another for Christmas so I’m now fully stocked up on one of my favourite scents! I highly recommend this if you like the musky perfumes like Alien by Mugler and some of the deeper Tom Ford scents.

Kiko Milano Arctic Holiday Collection (Kiko, £Various)

One of the budget-friendly brands I continuously talk about, is Kiko. Their collections blow me away and the Holiday 2017 range was no different. Called Arctic Holiday, the collection features a huge amount of products with a range of tools to accompany. The shades within the products are perfume winter hues: deep plum reds for lips, icy pale tones for eyes and the shimmer and glitter nail looks you love at this time of year. Stand out items for me include the All-In-One Palette which has four different face powders from bronzers to highlighters, along with nine individual eyeshadows. Warm tones with pops of glitter, it’s a great palette for winter and it’s the perfect handbag size so it’s great for taking out on New Year’s Eve! I have also been loving the stunning Matte Lipsticks from the range. The Kiko lipsticks are some of my favourite products from them and these are lovely. I have especially loved shade 03 (Cherry Tree) and 01 (Blushed Pink.)

E.Coudray Musc et Freesia Foaming Bath Cream and Body Cream (Escentual, £32-£38)

During December I’ve been indulging in a lot of lovely bubble baths to warm me up (I hate being cold!) And I’ve been using the gorgeous E.Coudray Musc et Freesia Foaming Cream. It’s a gorgeous and really indulgent foaming bath product (which you could also use in the shower) that’s got a really light and delicate, but luxurious scent. I pour mine in the bath and it’s lovely to relax in, and I’ve found it great before bed. Paired with the matching perfumed Body Cream, your skin smells soft as cotton after using. I have felt totally relaxed and smelt lovely when I’ve used these. They’ve been heavenly to indulge in.

Essie Nail Polish & Speed Setter Top Coat (£7.99 each)

I have featured Essie a LOT over this month because I am so impressed with their products. It’s been such a long time since I used nail polish as opposed to gel polish but Essie have won my heart with theirs. (I’ve reviewed their Winter Collection and am also running a competition for you to win it yourself here.) I’m currently changing my nails every four/five days and loving their pink and purple tones, currently Lovie Dovie is sitting on my nails! But the big wow product has to be their Speed Setter Top Coat. This is what has reverted me to nail polish after years of gel. It basically dries your nails rock hard almost instantly. Sit for a few minutes and you’re good to go – absolute NO BUDGING. I’ve never been able to stand doing my nails and then them smudging 20 minutes later, so this is an absolute hero product for nails.

MAC Girls Power Hungry Palette (£32)

I love MAC and their Girls collection of palettes have been a big hit. I’ve currently got two on the go but this month I’ve been loving the Power Hungry one. It’s got nude toned champagne hues that are perfect for a natural looking smokey eye. It’s also got a mixture of finishes from mattes to shimmers. There’s nine shades within the palette so you’ve got plenty of choice and it will absolutely enable your inner Girl Boss when using it.

So that’s my lot for December Favourites and I hope you’ll agree that there’s some pretty impressive goodies here. I’ve linked everything below for you to check out for yourself, but if there’s any time to buy some new beauty bits, it’s now with the sales!
