If you’re like I was, you might not know that Very.co.uk have a huge Beauty Department. More than that, they stock all the top brands across ‘drugstore’ and counter alternatives, meaning you can get all your beauty fixes in one place. I was genuinely surprised at how vast the range is and how many fantastic products they stocked, and my wish-list seems to be extending by the day!
I’m so busy at the moment, between my newborn, my 7 year old, running a blog, house, working freelance and trying to remember to eat and shower before lunchtime each day (!) that sometimes my beauty regime suffers. I’m now constantly looking for ways to speed up the regime because I don’t want to skip steps, although there’s just never enough time in the day. Unfortunately I sometimes find I do skip skincare steps, or miss out my contouring, or wear no eyeshadow…just the odd thing I hate sacrificing on, but when there’s no time – there’s no time. So for me, I am loving products that give me a big beauty hit quickly. The huge range of products at Very makes it easy to pick up some pure gems, and my favourites at the moment are the goodies that can give me a major pick-me-up in just a few minutes. And none of them break the bank either – so it’s win/win.
Face Inc Cat Nap Sheet Mask
When it comes to quick fixes, a good sheet mask is essential for a big hit of skincare. Sheet masks are fabulous for a concentrated way of giving your skin a wash of particular targeting. For me, I love face masks and sheet masks, but find the sheet variety to be better when I have less time – mostly because you don’t need to apply and remove – which can be timely, but rather just put on, take off and bam. Done. My most recent was the Face Inc (by Nails Inc) Cat Nap Sheet Mask, which comes in a two pack for only £9.99.
For dry and normal skin, this mask is basically a freshen up with a brightening effect. It cleanses, balances and restores, and as it soaks into the skin it feels fresh and clean. I like this because with me being so tired right now, my skin also looks it too. So this helped to make me look and feel like I’d had a solid night’s sleep – when I hadn’t Voila refreshed skin.
Essie Nail Treats
My nails are one thing I’ve not had much time for recently, and believe it or not, I’ve never tried Essie products before either! So these nail essentials have been going down a treat with me. I’ve got the Essie Nail Grow Stronger Base Coat, Good To Go Top Coat and Treat Love and Colour Polish, and I’ve found them to be great for keeping my nails looking and feeling pretty and healthy too.
The Base Coat is enriched with Vitamin E so it helps to strengthen the base of your nail to prevent chipping and breaking and the Top Coat goes on to protect your chosen varnish, and make it dry super quick. I find this invaluable right now because I need my nail varnish to last, so together these two are making sure that happens. But my favourite has to be the Treat Love and Colour because when I don’t have time for anything, using this gives me a hit of nail protection with it’s strengthening features that work to prevent chipping and breakage, and it also adds a hit of natural colour too – saving me a job and getting it all done in one hit. Plus all these Essie products are only £8.99 each and they’re on 3 for 2 right now, so you can get them all for healthy nails cheaply.
NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick
What better way to give yourself a beauty pick-me-up than with a flash of lip colour? It takes seconds to add something to your lips, and it can completely change the way you look. The NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks are perfect for this because the colour range is so universal – a huge range of nude tones from pinks to browns that mean all skin tones will find something that works for them. With the fashionable matte finish that everyone’s loving these days, they have a really creamy texture that glides on and has good longevity. I’m a fan of the Lingerie range anyway – they’re fab for the best nudes for only £6.99 and right now when I’m not able to spend as long on my make-up, these have been great to have in bag for a quick slight of natural lip colour.
These picks are my favourites for a 5 minute beauty fix, but there’s such a huge range available from Very to cover skincare and make-up that I’ve been spoiled for choice. Have a look at their whole range here and let me know which would be your top picks?
