Estee Lauder are one of those brands I’ll forever be loyal to. My Mum first introduced me to them when I started wearing make-up and I’ve not looked back since. Everything from their make-up to their skincare has passed my dressing table and I still to this day use some of their products as my daily staples. Estee Lauder are just one of those brands that always deliver the goods – and their impeccable quality means they’re on a pedestal that all other brands are constantly compared to.
Last year I particularly loved their Genuine Glow skincare range and their Sultry Nudes Eyeshadow Palette is one I reach for all the time. So I’ve been really excited to see what they’d be delivering this year for their 2017 launches and the Pure Color Love Lipsticks were well worth the wait.
An exciting, whole new collection of 30 lipsticks, the Pure Color Love range features lipsticks in finishes to suit everyone – there’s the ultra mattes, the shimmer pearls, cooled chromes and edgy cremes. And there’s shades that will suit every skin tone from cult favourite nudes, to baby pinks and deeper rich tones too.
I’ve been trialing the Ultra Mattes and the Shimmer Pearl finishes. The mattes are designed to give rich, bold colour with a matte finish and the Shimmer Pearls are supposed to be bold with a shimmer colour and high pearl finish.
I’ve got shade 300 Hot Streak in the Ultra Matte finish which is a gorgeous bright red with lots of boldness to the shade. It’s a red lip lovers dream! The colour is pure red, but the brightness makes it look like it’s almost verging on a tint of coral. Pigmentation-wise it’s excellent, such a creamy formula that doesn’t dry out or make your lips feel like they’re under-moisturised. The colour lasts a good few hours without the need for reapplication and it’s definitely got the wow-factor when worn.
I’ve also got the shade 460 Ripped Raisin in the Shimmer Pearl finish, which is undoubtedly my favourite. I’m more a lover of the dimensional finishes when it comes to lip products – so metal finishes, shimmery or cremes etc. So this one is right up my street! The finish is made up of some teenie-tiny particles of glitter that give the shimmery effect and overall it’s got a more creme like finish that catches the light. It’s got a great colour pay-off with a medium coverage that’s easy to build. I love this shade because when worn it’s more of a rose tone pink – which is one of my favourite shades. I feel like this finish and this colour are the sort you try to find by combining multiple lip products, but it gives you the same all-in-one.
I’m seriously enjoying these lipsticks – I’m a sucker for a whole new range, so having 30 lipsticks to drool over ticks every box for me. And that’s without the quality being so good ! The really cute thing about the Pure Color Love lipsticks is that they’re infused with a sweet vanilla to leave lips feeling delicious and soft – what can I say, I’m a sucker for vanilla.
The Pure Color Love Lipsticks are £19 each from Estee Lauder.
Which finish sounds like the one that will float your boat?
