It barely seems like two minutes ago that I was working through my autumn eye looks, and here I am with my winter take on all things eyes! Winter is a whole new kettle of fish because it’s… *leans closer* PARTY SEASON! Not just that, but colder weather means it’s once again time to mix up the colours I wear on my lids, and generally go for a slight variation on the previous few months worth of eye make-up. And I LOVE changing things up.
As ever, Estee Lauder have got me covered when it comes to pretty much everything. One of my trusty and most reliable brands, I’ve got their staple products in both my make-up and skincare collection, and I wouldn’t be without either. So I’ve been absolutely loving getting the perfect eye looks for winter with their products recently. Mostly their absolutely stunning new eyeshadow palette, which has made me go all heart-eye-emoji.
…But where else would any good eye make-up blog post start, other than with the very first step of achieving Instagram worthy eyes – than with a great eye cream.
Revitalising Supreme Eye Balm
I’m a big fan of the Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme collection. I wrote about it a little while ago and have been really impressed with it. So naturally, when looking for a new eye cream to try, I snapped up the matching eye balm to the collection. It’s only recently that I’ve started to use eye cream, having never really needed to before. But with the big 3-0 looming next year, I’m starting to get very aware of those little lines around my eyes that look a tad deeper than before.. So I’ve been using an eye cream to console myself about this and hopefully keep my eyes looking smooth for as long as possible.
This eye cream has been doing wonders. A quick application before bedtime each night and I wake up with eyes feeling fresh. I’m suffering from major insomnia right now, and I feel like this is helping disguise the colour of these horrible under-eye bags. It gives me smooth, revived looking eyes, which means I’m good to go with the make-up side of gorgeous looking eyes this winter.
The Brow Multitasker
Next up it’s the brows – still classed as part of my eye routine to me! I don’t tend to do much to my brows, but it is important during winter, and especially during party season, that they’re looking as fleeky as possible. Basically, I want my brows to rival Cara’s at my Christmas Party. Don’t judge me. The brow pencil I’ve been using of late is this newbie – The Brow Multiptasker from Estee Lauder, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s everything you need for quick on-the-go brows.
A three-in-one pencil, powder and brush, it’s so easy to use. One end has a triangular, pointed edge for drawing the lines and filling the gaps, then in the centre a sponge primed with powder to create fuller looking brows. This is great for me as mine tend to be bushy in the centre then really fine on the outer brow. The final point of the Multitasker is the brush end to style and smooth. It’s literally everything you need in one, and it takes 30 seconds tops, to sort my brows in the morning and I’m good to go.
Estee Lauder Sultry Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
Now for the product that literally had me swooning when I opened it – the Estee Lauder Sultry Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. Here’s where the fun kicks in with eye looks – because eyeshadow means you can experiment with so many different styles and looks.
The most beautiful of palettes, it contains 14 shades with both matte and shimmer finishes – meaning it’s perfect for everyone. Not just that but it’s also the perfect winter palette, and is going to be my go-to for party season because it’s got everything covered – from neutral blushing shades with a hint of warmth, to shimmery bronze shades too. But my personal favourites for this time of year – the greys and smokey shades. Those are my top picks for winter looks – nothing better than a winter smokey eye. It’s literally my dream palette – you know how much I adore a smokey eye!
I’ve been playing around with my favourite looks and the below was created using the nude shades, with warmer lids and a smokey crease…
Then not forgetting my beautiful photo shoot recently, the eye look was created solely with this gorgeous palette!
It’s selling out fast, and lots of you have been commenting on my social media pictures saying you want it, so get yours here before they all go.
Sumptuous Knockout Mascara
The final step for me when it comes to the eyes, is the mascara. I like the new Estee Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Mascara because it’s great for lifting the lashes and fanning them out. The brush is lovely and the texture doesn’t clump or stick together. And I love that it doesn’t leave black flakes or marks under my eyes either. A quick slick of this and you’re good to go for everyday wear. Job done!
So that’s my four step eye routine, and how I plan to keep my eyes looking refreshed, bright and perfectly on trend this winter. No more warm shades, I’m all about the grey sultry and smokey eye with lots of perfectly preened brow and lash shaping. But not forgetting some eye TLC every night when the make-up’s off with the revitalizing eye balm.
What do you guys think of my four steps to Winter eyes? Will these be making your Christmas list?
