I love a good excuse to celebrate, so Paul & Joe’s 20th Fashion Anniversary was cause for major celebrations. Never ones to shy away from marking their anniversary, Paul & Joe spoil their customers with treats, limited edition products and returns of cult classics. Their 20th Fashion Anniversary was no different as they launched a cat themed collection to celebrate, and it featured some of their most stand-out beauty items.
Whether you’re a cat lover or not, you’ll appreciate this beautiful collection. It’s girlie, pretty and oozes fashionista appeal. Coming as a set, it’s housed in a tote bag-in-a-bag featuring the 20th Anniversary exclusive print. Not only that but the tote itself folds into a cute feline friend when not in use. So you can have it as a a practical and stylish sought-after print bag, or a matching feline friend to decorate your bed, sofa or desk. Nifty huh?
After that there’s the stunning clasp pouch in the legendary hummingbird design from the 2006 collection. This print pouch was so popular when it launched that people queued up for hours to get one – and it’s included in the 20th Anniversary Collection! Thank you Paul & Joe! The clutch itself has a classic and 50’s style shell shape and also comes with a tiny removable coin pouch inside too, for loose change etc. I’m a big fan of the print anyway and now finally having it as my own is SO exciting. I may be primarily a beauty blogger but the fashion lover in me squealed a little bit when I opened this.
Next up: the make-up!
The 20th Anniversary Make-Up Collection features three of the brands most coveted and sought after products. All of which are stunning shades and perfect to mark this special occasion. Some brands go bold with colours to celebrate a special anniversary, but I LOVE that Paul & Joe have marked the occasion with shades that are wearable, stunning and perfect for all skin tones. Other brands take note: we don’t need the plastic fantastic shades of a child’s birthday party to celebrate a big event…
Starting with Lipstick A, this beautiful coral pink is the perfect summer colour. It’s a warm toned lipstick that’s got a classic matte finish and was from the 2004 collection. It’s easy to see why beauty lovers were crazy about this peach tone back then – it’s easy to wear with everything. I find coral and peach tones go with make-up looks of all types, and this one is perfect for adding a pop of colour with a smokey eye, or drawing attention when you’re going for the nude look. It’s bold and vibrant and it’s the perfect summer shade. Housed in a cute panther design tube, it’s as much a hit now as it was in 2014.
Then there’s the Face Colour A In Cheerful Tulip from the 2005 collection. A matching shade to the lipstick, it’s a shimmer finish coral powder designed for the cheeks. However it’s also the perfect coral eyeshadow. I actually prefer it on my lids to my cheeks as I don’t wear shimmer finishes on my cheeks. But on the eyelids it adds a gorgeous warm glow. Considering it’s multipurpose, this powder is pretty and would be great for pale skin tones and also as more of a highlighting colour for darker skin tones. Another great little treat in the set.
My favourite of the make-up items is the Pressed Compact Duo A, which was originally launched at the Paul & Joe 10th Anniversary celebration. However, it was so popular that it’s made its return and I for one am VERY happy with it! It’s a dual purpose face powder with one half a matte finish and the other a champagne highlighter. Both perfectly compliment each other and look so pretty when worn. It’s housed in a hard case with floral design and it has a vintage feel and classic style – another big hit.
All the items in the collection are iconic pieces from the Paul & Joe range – which makes you feel like you’ve got a bit of fashion and beauty history in your hands. It feels like you’ve been given the best bits of the best bits, and you feel like you’ve got something worth treasuring. It’s quirky and unique – in true Paul & Joe style: you wouldn’t expect, or want, anything else. The make-up has got you covered with the practicals of easy everyday essentials, and the bags just add that classic pop of sophistication. The Paul & Joe 20th Fashion Anniversary Make-Up Collection is practically a piece of fashion and beauty history. At £64 – an investment, some might say.
