MAC x Steve J & Yoni P - The Most Fun You'll Have With MAC Packaging, Guaranteed!

When it comes to their limited edition collections, MAC are well known for knocking it out of the park with their ranges. Not just with the products, but with the packaging too. It's one of the things that makes me fall in love with their one-off ranges actually, I mean, did you see the Mariah Carey packaging? Goals. And then there's the fun they have with ranges like Trolls and Vibe Tribe too. If anyone can absolutely nail a limited edition range, it's MAC - and one of their latest - MAC X Steve J & Yoni P is no exception.

If you've not heard about the collection then prepare to be wowed. Steve J and Yoni P are a Korean Design Duo with a flair for the fun and flirty. Their fashion designs are well known for being contemporary, with lots of colour and the perfect balance of high-end casual wear. So naturally their MAC collaboration embodies these things too. The range itself is girly and feminine with a "spunky balance between sporty thrills and flirty thrills" which means it's ideal for the girly girls and the sporty girls among us. As designers they've managed to capture that perfect balance of something that's fun and exclusive (as you'd expect with high-end) and makes you feel like you've got something truly luxurious - while also keeping things fresh and fun. And I adore how they've captured this in their make-up collaboration with MAC too...Because looking at the pictures and seeing the products themselves - can you actually even have any more fun with make-up packaging than this...

So let's talk about why this collection has been such a sell-out (FYI it's only available in MAC Carnaby, MAC Covent Garden and at maccosmetics.co.uk) because if you want it, you're going to need to be uber fast as lots of the lines are selling out already... Korean Beauty is getting bigger over here in the UK. With it's high performance, vibrancy and unique style, Korean influences have started to filter through the market and more and more people are having their first experiences with products and ranges from Korean brands. Which personally I love because I'm all about trying new things. I've loved reading blog posts recently about bloggers getting acquainted with Korean beauty, so it was a no-brainer for me to try the Steve J & Yoni P MAC collab because MAC are one of my all-time favourite brands anyway.

One of the key themes that Korean beauty is known for is the vibrancy of colours that somehow shouldn't work together, but just do. Those bright shades you wouldn't usually dare to attempt? Korean beauty makes it work somehow. And so does the MAC collection.

My favourites of the range are without doubt the lipsticks and the eyeshadow palettes. The lipstick I love best is 'A Killing Smile' (£16.50) - a bright and bold statement red in a matte finish. You can't go wrong with a good old red lip and I swear by MAC lipsticks anyway, so you'll never go wrong with these. The colour pay-off and pigmentation is excellent as you'd expect and the packaging on the front?! It makes me swoon. How cute is that design?!

Then the eyshadow duo is my other love in the range. I've got 'Touch Me Baby' (£20) which features two cute shades for a fun and flirty eye look. There's Soba - a gold brown with gold shimmer and Keep On Twinkling which is a frosted pink. Soba looks almost matte in the compact when you open it, but I can confirm it's got very fine, light gold shimmer in it and the frosted pink? Well it's a girly-girls dream. I like to use Soba in the crease and Keep On Twinkling on the lid for a pop of colour. I'm actually wanting to try a light amount of Keep On Twinkling in the centre of my lip when wearing the red lipstick this weekend as I think it will create a really gorgeous overall look - check my Instagram next week for a pic!

However not just a two-piece collection, MAC went all out with the Steve J & Yoni P collab and there are three other lipstick shades, another eyeshadow palette, an eye gloss, a mascara, a powder blush and a lip and cheek palette. As well as a bag and brushes too. So you can get that Korean style all over.

So it's an absolute yes from me - it's fun, flirty, girly and has everything I expect from MAC: high quality, excellent pigmentation and great colour payoff. You know MAC will never disappoint with their limited edition packaging either, and this is the most fun you'll have with make-up packaging - guaranteed!

Do you guys like the look of the range too?
