The Two Palettes You Need For Summer - Zoeva Matte Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette and Cream Contour Spectrum

It's so hard to envisage summer as being right around the corner when this morning I had to pull back out my winter boots and scarf for work. But the fact is that now we're in May it (hopefully!) won't be long before things warm up for more than a day or so before getting chilly again. This means sunshine, holidays and lots of fun summer trends to keep up with. Summer also brings along with it the need for a few extra's in your make-up collection. As the tans become more common, the need for bronzer gets bigger and when we crack out those bikinis and one-pieces it's always a fun opportunity to experiment with some brighter make-up looks to match. With that in mind there's two palettes that are absolutely essential for summer...

Zoeva Matte Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette

Make-up brand Zoeva are always knocking it out of the park with their palettes and the Matte Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette is no exception. This beauty is absolutely perfect for the summer because the colours are bang on trend. It's got a real tribal feel to the shades (there's 15 in total) that will look great with aztec prints and the bright colours you'll find on bikinis and one pieces. The range of colours give you a whole load of options, making it a really versatile palette and one that's completely essential for summer looks. I can totally imagine being on holiday and wearing nothing else on my eyelids but this. It's got you covered for everything from a nude eye with a pop of colour for pool time during the day, and then also those brights and tribal tones for those evenings out having dinner and walking beside the sea. The colour spectrum spreads along nudes and yellows and goes through warm tones to cooler neutrals, meaning you can get everything from a barely-there look to a smokey eye or a bold and bright fun style. It really is a summer essential because of how versatile it is.

As with all the Zoeva eyeshadow palettes I've tried, the shades in this are really pigmented and what I love about them is how creamy they feel when applying. The pigmentation and creamy texture means they're lovely to apply and there's little fallout when worn - great for those summer holidays. Plus add a tiny dab of your favourite eyeshadow primer and these will easily last the day. Add some waterproof mascara, a bit of bronzer and you're good to go for summer. Plus at £28.50 it works out at only £1.90 per shadow, so it's nicely affordable too.

Zoeva Cream Contour Spectrum Palette

The second palette that's essential for summer is the Zoeva Cream Contour Spectrum. Everyone needs good contour products in summer. Especially when we switch between the pool days and barely-there make-up, to the evenings when we like to rock out the more bronzed looks and show off the tans more. So a good quality and long lasting contour kit is essential, and cream lasts just that bit longer than powder anyway, so my palette pick was always going to be for the cream version.

This one gets big ticks because the shades are really universal - you'll be able to get the perfect coverage from them and their ability to mix well together means everyone will be able to contour with this palette alone. I especially like how there's one shade in the palette that's more of a pearlised highlighter shade, meaning you can even get your highlight and emphasis for the cheekbones from this palette too.

The creams themselves blend in really nicely with little effort and create great contours where needed. It's just a really easy to use contour palette with enough shades for everyone and a pretty shimmery shade for adding that light-catching glow we all love. You won't need to take any other contour palettes on holiday with you if you've got this. Get it for £22.50 from Zoeva.

So these two are my palette picks for summer, do they take your fancy for a place in your suitcase and make-up bags?
