May Favourites

I feel like I've blinked and gone from January to May - anyone else?! This year is absolutely charging past, each month is quickly ticked off the calendar and suddenly we're almost in summer without even realising. It's clearly one of those years that's going to fly by. I can't say that I mind though because I've crammed so much in to the past five months, including trying some amazing products. My Monthly Favourites posts are always some of my most fun to write because I try to mix up the products I've been trailing, just to keep things fresh. It also means I'm forever trying new products and brands in search of those amazing things that are so good they need to be shouted about! And this month is a knock-out.

KKW x Kylie Cosmetics - Swatches, Review & Verdict

If you follow me on Twitter then you'll know that as soon as I heard about the Kylie Cosmetics KKW collab, I was excited. Not because I'm a fan of the Kylie range (I'm not) and not because I'm a Kardashian superfan (I'm not.) But I was excited because the collab was going to feature Kylie's first ever creme liquid lipstick formula. And as a creme lip finish kinda gal, this made me know for sure I wanted to get my hands on it.

Spectrum You Look Marbleous - The Brush Set That Keeps On Giving

Spectrum Collections are one of those brands I've loved from afar for ages. Captivated by their brightly coloured brushes and sophisticated looking sets, I've been absolutely desperate to try their brushes first hand. I see their pink and multicoloured brushes all over my Instagram feed and swoon a little bit every time, and then I saw their Marbleous range and that was it - I was all heart-eye-emoji for them too.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb has been one of my favourite scents for a while. I'm a huge fan and even when I run out of my normal supply, I'll always have a quick spritz in the perfume isle of the shops to remind myself how much I love it. I've gone through more bottles than I care to admit of the original, so when I heard about the new fragrance Flowerbomb Bloom, I knew I'd have to try that too.

5 Feel Good Beauty Products For Right Now

When it comes to spring, I like to overhaul my make-up and beauty regime. But this year seems to have been lacking in...actual spring. The constant rain, grey skies and cooler weather have meant most of us have been stuck wearing our coats and boots longer than usual and I for one have stuck to my autumn/winter make-up palette more, with warm, dark toned eye looks and deeper lipsticks. However it's sunny outside today, so I'm taking all the spring vibes I can get, and using it as an excuse to talk about 5 feel good beauty products for right now - because if we can't rely on the weather as a pick-me-up right now, we can always rely on our beauty products!

Clarins Pore Perfecting Foundation & Kit

It's no secret that my favourite foundation finish, is matte. I'm the oily skin kinda gal, which means I have all sorts of problems when it comes to finding make-up that doesn't just slide off my face by mid-afternoon. It's my biggest bug-bear in make-up - I love the dewy look and adore pretty highlighters, but for me it's not long before they leave me looking shiny - rather than glowing. And it's not a pretty sight! So I have to be careful what I use on my face as a base.

Ask The Experts - Top Beauty Bloggers Share Their Beauty Tips, Tricks & Hacks

The one thing I love about blogging and am constantly reminded of every time I go online, is how many talented bloggers and individuals there are out there. The blogasphere is full to the seams of people absolutely nailing their niche, storming social media and all round owning what they're doing. It gives me such pleasure to see bloggers of all sizes creating content that shows how excellent they are in their niche, and I've discovered some real talent over the last few years as a beauty blogger. What I like is that blogging gives people an outlet that allows them to position themselves as an expert in their field - something which is reinforced with engagement and interaction from their very loyal audience.

Mac and Fleur De Force Lipstick - #MACxFleurDeForce

It's the lipstick I've been excited about ever since Fleur revealed she was working with MAC on a lipstick. I absolutely love her style and she often wears make-up in the same shades that I like, so I knew she'd create a shade of lipstick that I'd love. And over the past few weeks as pictures have come out showing the lipstick in all its glory, I knew with even more certainty that I was going to buy it. I was determined not to miss out, as I have done with other limited edition products, and then regretted it big style. So I made it my mission to make sure I got one - and I did!

How to Beat Under Eye Bags - With Estee Lauder

My Mum always told me that the eyes are the first place on your face to show the signs of aging and she was right. The skin around our eyes is the most thin part of our face and so it's here that we show little lines forming first. I'm 30 this year and it's only as that number approaches that I'm starting to inspect those laughter lines a little bit closer than I have done before - just to ensure that when the wrinkles do break through, I'll be ready.

The Two Palettes You Need For Summer - Zoeva Matte Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette and Cream Contour Spectrum

It's so hard to envisage summer as being right around the corner when this morning I had to pull back out my winter boots and scarf for work. But the fact is that now we're in May it (hopefully!) won't be long before things warm up for more than a day or so before getting chilly again. This means sunshine, holidays and lots of fun summer trends to keep up with. Summer also brings along with it the need for a few extra's in your make-up collection. As the tans become more common, the need for bronzer gets bigger and when we crack out those bikinis and one-pieces it's always a fun opportunity to experiment with some brighter make-up looks to match. With that in mind there's two palettes that are absolutely essential for summer...

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Review

It's the foundation that everyone's been talking about. The L'Oreal Infallible collection has made big waves in beauty and if make-up is your thing then you'll likely have experienced the same curiosity as me. In fact, even if make-up isn't your thing then I think you'll have been exposed to just as much excited chatter about this range, in particular the foundation. It seems that literally everyone has been talking about it - which is usually the time when I jump right in and see what it's like for myself. I'd  heard the opinions, read the reviews and wondered - can a drug store brand really outperform counter brands and succeed where others have failed?

AM To PM With This Works

One brand I've been loving on the skin care and body care front recently is This Works. I'm not new to their products but it's only in the past few months that I've been using their products with a dedicated effort to really get to grips with what they can offer. I've been a big fan of their Perfect Legs Skin Miracle since I tried it last year, but I've been really enjoying trying some others too, which together have given me amazing body and skin care throughout the day with something for every section of the day as it passes.

New In: Mascara

Mascara is one of those staple pieces that even those who wear minimal make-up will usually have. Everyone's got a mascara or two (or twenty if you're me!) laying around right? I like to think that I've had a good amount of testing experience with mascaras, because I've tried so many in search of the perfect one. (I wrote a post on my Top 5 High-end Mascaras.) This means that I usually know quite quickly when trying one out whether it's going to be any good or not. In the sake of keeping things fair, unless one is absolutely pants, then I'll usually give it a good go before making my final verdict. But the sad truth is that for me, I'm hard to please with mascara. Unless it really wows me then I'm unlikely to repurchase and will usually just end up seeing out the tube as a bottom lash mascara, while I switch to something else for the top. Sad but true for all the ill-performing mascara out there.
