It doesn't seem possible that I'm at a the end of another month, writing a monthly favourites post! I swear the months are flying by at the moment. But February has been an absolute corker for the new products I've been trying and I've been really excited to write this post because the products are all so lovely. Seeing as it's still a bit cold, I've been playing around with make-up, some body care/skin care and some new releases too. So here's what February has been treating me with...
Mii Cosmetics Passion Matte Lipsticks and Alluring Lip Liner
I always love trying new brands and this month Mii Cosmetics have been amazing for some of their new releases. They're a brand who I've tried once before (with some of their fake tan products in the run up to Christmas) so I was looking forward to trying more from them. The Passion Matte lipsticks are a nourishing matte formula in four shades, with a suede-like finish. I prefer matte lipsticks to the liquid varieties on the market because they don't dry out the lips, and these are lovely at making the lips feel moisturised and not dry in the slightest. The four shades are all highly pigmented and rich in colour - my favourite being the more nude shade (Bare 01) because its the sort of colour I'd wear every day. Sassy 03 (the red-ish one) is pretty special too, with a hint of coral/pink to make it pop when worn.

The matching lip liners are also lovely - very creamy to use and easy to apply. Very long lasting, they don't bleed or move and they stay on for ages. They also come in a twist action pencil, so there's no need for a sharpener, which I prefer. (Personal preference.) The lipsticks are £15.50 each and the liners are £12.50. Perfect for highly-pigmented colour lovers. Get them from Mii Cosmetics.
Nugg Black Charcoal Skin Detox Face Mask
I've tried the Nugg face masks before and was quite impressed with them, so when their newest addition arrived, I was eager to give it a go - especially because I'm running low on face masks at the moment. This one is a black, charcoal based mask with enough for one use per little pot. The joy of charcoal based masks is that they draw out the impurities in your skin and control shine - which is perfect for me as I have quite oily skin. This one was nice to use and left my skin feeling fresh and clear - my pores felt clean and completely unclogged. There was a slight tingling sensation when used, but for me - I like that. It shows me the mask is actually doing something for my skin! My skin felt less oily for a few days after use, so it's a getting a thumbs up from me.
Mii Cosmetics Cleanse & Condition Brush Balm
Another hit from Mii Cosmetics this month would be their brand new Brush Balm. It's a solid bar that cleanses your brushes really nicely. It looks like a solid bar of soap, but don't be put off! It's actually a solid balm containing coconut oil (everyones favourite!) that works to dissolve the make-up and it also contains shea butter that keeps your brushes soft during the cleaning process. I found that my brushes were lovely and soft after using this and I didn't need to use too much on each brush to get them clean after a little scrub. A lovely way to clean your brushes.
Jessica Nails Silhouette Nail Varnish
I'm trying to make sure my nails are always done again at the moment, mostly because being pregnant means I feel pretty rough most of the time and the one thing I can ensure that still looks good - is my nails! I've been loving the new Spring collection from Jessica, named Silhouette, because the shades are all perfect for the arrival of spring. Lots of nudes and neutral shades, muted pinks, pale mocha colours and the like. My favourites are Bare It All, Tease and Naked Contours because they give the nails a really pretty and feminine colour without being overbearing. I'm a huge Jessica Nails fan anyway, their quality is some of the best out there for matching salon level gel and the new spring collection has been lovely to try.
Being cold, especially with the crazy weather we've been having recently, has meant that my lips are still dry and cracking - which always happens in the colder months. I'm a lip balm hoarder, and have loads (literally, loads) so I was kinda stumped as to why I haven't tried Carmex before now, especially because of how impressed I am with the products. The Cherry Tube is my favourite, although the slight tingling sensation did take me by surprise the first time I used it. The scent is absolutely divine though! I also love the Vanilla Stick for nourishing without the tingle, and it's the perfect pick-me-up on the go. Again, it smells absolutely gorgeous. Plus Carmex have just released their brand new Moisture Clear Sticks which nourish and leave a hint of shine too. These are perfect for wearing with matte lipstick for a touch of shine and extra nourishment. My lips are feeling soft and moisturised despite the cold weather thanks to these three.
The Natural Spa Factory Bumps A Daisy
My lovely friends over at the Natural Spa Factory were so kind when they found out I was pregnant, and sent me over some wonderful goodies. As a mummy-to-be (again!), your skin changes so much in pregnancy and needs different nourishment in new ways to cover all your bases. The Natural Spa Factory sent me their Bumps A Daisy range which includes Body Oil, Body Moisturiser and Hand and Foot Scrub. All of them have a really soft scent - nothing invasive, which is key in the early months as strong smells are a big no-go! These all smell natural and fresh, and the oil has already been heavily used on my tummy (lets be avoiding stretch marks baby, okay!) and actually on my feet too! My partner has been a gem and keeps rubbing my feet as they keep stinging after a long day at work, so this oil has been a joy to use and it smells so go. Next up I intend to try it as a bath oil, which I can't wait to indulge in. The Moisturiser is lovely too and I'm using it daily after a shower to keep my skin nourished as you can get quite dry skin in pregnancy. I'm loving these because they feel rich in quality and I have the knowledge that they're completely natural too. It's win/win, so thank you lovely people at The Natural Spa Factory!
So those are my February Favourites and as you can tell, it's been a great month! Will you be giving any of these a go in March?
