As you know, last month I was invited to the exclusive pre-launch event for the Benefit Brow Collection. (I blogged about it here.) This was one of my all time favourite blogger events as it meant getting to try all the items in the brand new Benefit Brow Collection well over a month before they hit the shops... Fast forward to last week and the collection arrived in stores and online and was as well received as expected - if not better! Having tried the whole collection in May, I'd been so excited for my own brow goodies to arrive because as mentioned in my previous post - I've never invested much time or thought in making the most of my brows, until this collection. When I used the products I was blown away with just how on fleek my eyebrows looked. So naturally when my goodies arrived, I was excited to give myself eyebrows Kara would be proud of - everyday.

This weekend marked a huge moment for me in the last few years. The day went by unmarked, it wasn't celebrated or talked about - because no-one else knew that this weekend was exactly one year since I stopped taking Fluoxitine. My history with depression isn't one I talk about online very often, in fact I've never blogged about it. It's not the sort of thing I hide, I think the stigma surrounding depression needs to be banished forever, but I also prefer to play those cards a little closer to my chest for practical reasons. Mostly being that one day my son will be able to read the things I write online. But my depression battle is one that will likely continue for the rest of my life.

When it comes to skincare products, some have a reputation that's hard to beat. For me, one skincare product I had heard so much about, was the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. Everyone raves about this, and my best friend swears by it. However for some reason, it wasn't until we went to London for the day and she bought some, that I decided it was time for me to give it a go too. As the shop assistant stood chatting away to my bestie about how good the Hot Cloth Cleanser is, I was gradually going all heart-eye-emoji and swooning. I knew then and there I'd be trying some pronto. So when the lovely people at Liz Earle sent me some to try, I was more excited than a child in a toy shop.

Daniel Sandler can do no wrong in my eyes - who better to trust than a professional make-up artist with 25+ years experience? I've been heavily into make-up since I was old enough to wear it, but it's only as I'm getting older than my appreciation is growing for brands like Daniel Sandler. With an industry insider at the helm, someone who's learnt what works - and more importantly, what doesn't - means that you can have complete confidence in the products. It also means that you're ensured a very good thing when that little delivery comes through your door! My most recent Daniel Sandler delivery was the Radiant Glow compact and it didn't disappoint. In fact it positively shimmered... (see what I did there?!)

When it comes to make-up, in my eyes there isn't much that Stila can do wrong. Their products are some of my make-up bag staples and yet they continue to impress with their new releases. There's nothing better for me than a make-up brand who get it right time after time - retaining their old trusty lines, but also introducing new products that raise the bar higher and higher.

So when it comes to style and fashion, I'm very girlie. I'm more comfortable in pretty clothes, with a feminine flare than in something that's a bit hit-and-miss or something that's only going to be fashionable for a brief period of time. I like my clothes, shoes and accessories to be classic and elegant - timeless even. Obviously my wardrobe is still majorly impacted by current trends and I do give in and splurge on the latest shapes and patterns from time to time, but my overall style is more consistent. And that's what I look for in the brands that I class as staples in my wardrobe: timeless elegance, and pure class.

There are some brands out there that I wish I'd tried sooner. Some which grace my wish-list for far too long before I finally try them and fall head-over-heels, and wonder why I waited so long. I then usually float into a state of make-up euphoria, and make sure I tell everyone about them as well. After all, that's what you do when you're in love isn't it?! My latest make-up obsession, the one I wish I had tried years ago is KIKO Milano, because my first impressions of this brand and their gorgeous products have been so high I'm kicking myself for not picking up some of their goodies sooner.

It's that time of year again! It's the time when we reach for the bikini, the legs come out and the boots are banished to the back of the wardrobe in favour of the flip-flops, as we try to make the most of the traditional washout that is the Great British Summer. However, as the pure summer months are now upon us (belated welcome to June folks *applause*) it's also the time of year when us ladies (and gents) invest in skincare, body care and pretty much every summer-body-promising product that we can get our hands on. Whether we've succeeded in maintaining our Summer Body Diet or not (surprise, surprise, I haven't) we all want those elusive products to help us make the most of our bodies, now that the weather means more of it is on show. However, for you I've taken the fuss out faffing around with products that don't work. Don't waste money trying products that say they'll help this summer, I've found the ones you need to get that radiant, happy and healthy summer body this year...

When it comes to brushes, you know that you're in good hands when it comes to Sigma. These guys get everything right when it comes to making the best quality and highest performing make-up brushes. I swear by their eye brushes, as you'll know if you read my Sigma Eye Brushes post recently. I think so highly of their eye brushes that I threw all others out when I started using my most recent Sigma eye additions. So it makes sense that I'd naturally turn to Sigma when it comes to brush care too.

It's Skincare Sunday folks - how quickly are the weeks going this year?! I can't believe that we're already in JUNE! But another Skincare Sunday is upon us and I am very excited to tell you all about the skincare brand I've been trying recently. Before I start, I need to say that this one is truly amazing so let me introduce you to Alpha - H...

So for those of you who didn't already know, in my day job I now work in PR full time. I've got years of PR experience from previous roles where it was always a big part of my daily job - marketing, PR, and communications all tend to come hand-in-hand and that's where my career has been based for over eight years now.

So when it comes to make-up, a girl can never have too much right? And that means never giving up the quest to find bigger and better products. I love that beauty blogging has lured me out of my 'comfort' zone which previously meant I only ever used the same products on my face without fail. I guess I was stuck in a make-up rut. If it wasn't for my blog I'd never have been able to try some amazing products and discover brands who surpassed the quality and performance of some of my long-standing (and now previous) staple products. And one brand I've been so excited to discover like this, who've raised the bar and introduced some fantastic products to my make-up bag, is Studio 10.

When it comes to make-up, my all time favourite product is a good eyeshadow palette. Nothing beats a palette full of gorgeous looking eyeshadows all waiting to be used, mixed together and blended to your hearts content. The amount of looks you can achieve with a great palette is limitless and that's why I'm a full blown eyeshadow palette addict - and proud to admit it! So it will come as no surprise that today's post is dedicated to the eyeshadow palette that I'm loving right now, by one of my all time favourite brands, Too Faced. And the palette I'm talking about? None other than the Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Collection.

There are some brands who know the importance of the details. Who know that the little things count. These brands know that it's not always a numbers game but it's about quality and attention to detail. There's big and small brands alike who truly understand the difference between average - and going the extra mile. And one of my favourite brands for this is Sweet Cecily's.

A lot of people ask me how I have to time to be a single mummy, a beauty and lifestyle blogger and a full time PR Gal, as well as run a house, maintain a social life and ensure that my son's wearing matching shoes to school each day. The truth is that I have no idea. I'm constantly striving for that 'perfect' balance while secretly fearing that there isn't one. A few people have referred to me as a 'superwoman' when I talk about my daily routine, but the fact is that I am so far away from super anything! My underwear never matches, last Tuesday I had toothpaste on my work shirt and didn't realise until 10:50am and I've got these permanent frown lines in-between my eyebrows from squinting because I use my glasses as Instagram photo props so often that they're usually at home in my office instead of on my face at work. Oh and more than once recently I've got home from work and cried tears of exhaustion. I'm no superwoman, just a girl trying to do her best - and quite frequently failing... As shown on mornings like Thursday when I was so not with it that I put in-shower tan in my hair thinking it was shampoo. I'm more un-superwoman than superwoman.

How often do you look in the mirror and wish your skin looked better? You might wish that it was more radiant, less dull or even just a little bit healthier all round. I frequently look at mine and wonder what products it would take to give me skin that looked healthy and happy and naturally just a bit better. So hearing about Perricone MD and their range of make-up products recently got me seriously intrigued, specifically because their range prides itself on being created to be just like your own skin - but better. If you haven't heard about Perricone MD No MakeUp then I'm about to blow your mind...
